This is a true account and probably doesn't go far enough for some..but that's reality for you.

I was sent to do a repair in a highbrow bakery in London. "Just get the train down with a few tools" they said. Well of course those few tools turned into me looking like a Sherpa's pony...struggling and sweating across London, to do a stressy repair for ungrateful and unfriendly store staff. The thankless task was eventually done with my escape dampened by the thought of the tube crush with me geared up like a human Buckaroo. This went on for two stops until the number of people in the carriage dropped and we naturally seperated. Now at this point I can't see her face..I have no sign of dissapproval or approval. One more stop I had to go and the tension in my arms and my head was huge. Finally we arrived and I trudged on to the platform to find that she too had alighted. We walked parallel for a few steps before finally we had the briefest eye contact. Now this eye contact decided my fate really, as she was judge and jury delivering a verdict on my status, pervert or player. Had she shown disgust then I would have been shamed to the core. But no...no disgust, just wide eyed questioning surprise like mine, curiousity behind the gaze..confirmation of her complicitness but indicative of the disbelief at the surreality of what had just happened.

And then she was gone..we went our seperate ways. No frenzied quicky with a stranger in a station toilet..no satisfactory conclusion of any kind. Just a dazed walk to St Pancras wondering what the fuck just occurred and whether I would make the next train home!
