A number of recent stories are simple cut and pastes from other websites, what's the general opinion on this?

Some are great stories but should it be made clear from post 1 that it's been sourced from elsewhere?

Just a point for discussion....

Agreed. Also make it perfectly clear whether it's a truthful story of an actual occurrence or a fantasy.

I'd just like to say, none of my stories ever come from any source other than my own mind

The point about fantasy or truth should be left to the reader to decide

I think it adds something to the story, not knowing if its truth or fantacy. Just getting into writing them myself. But are they fantasy or not. I won't tell..lol.

haha cryptic. I think people enjoy the real ones more because your aware this has actually happened when you read. The fantasies are more the writers personal wishes so for me i enjoy the true stories a bit more. Each to their own tho. X

I agree, there's a rawness to the real life tales, some fantasy tales have a habit of getting too elaborate and jumping around in a non sensical way which takes the edge off their effectiveness

Not complaining though, everyone has different tastes

None of my stories are copied from anywhere either.

My chapters are a mixture of fantasy, some based on reality and some real.

I write them cos I enjoy it and also cos some people seem to like them also.

They also take alot of time and planning too!

Alot of other good stories on the forum too.

It's a good point raised. My stories are all experiences and found easier to write. I have started writing some fantasies including those of others who want me to write them for them. But I find fantasies harder to write but getting there.

I don't think many people realise just how much planning is put into it i love writing though so I'm happy to do it

I know, each chapter used to take me an hour to write and then there was all the planning and writing down ideas and thinking of the right way to word things!!!

I get two hours a day of my life back each time I finish a story Definitely worth it though.

One of my stories is pure fantasy and the other real. I think its quite obvious from the start which is which.

I hate to see anyone's work being ripped off. There have been countless stories on here that were straight copies from sites like Literotica. And no credit is ever given to the true author.

People who do this are scumbags with no imagination or writing skills of their own.

I just gather thoughts and fantasies from real life events, situations, my vivid imagination and obviously influenced from what I have read. I get a real buz writing them and hopefully pleasing others who read them. It's just good fun. I don't see the point of just cutting and pasting other stories.

Why, surely if it's half the fun to figure out if they are fact or fiction, some of them are so obviously fiction, but others create that image in your mind that makes you think, and it's those writers that should be commended. Allowing us to visualise their fantasies.

Anything I find distasteful, I would simply cease reading.
