I beg to differ on the suggestion that dogging isn't dogging if you arrange to meet first . The op is a good example as a complete stranger turned up too , and with a bit more experience it would have been perfect .

More often than not we will turn up at our local dogging spot unannounced but on occasion meet someone there from fab . This often gets things going and ensures a good night .

Didn't pick the best time of year really? I go dogging, but only in the summer and usually in daylight, as wandering around in the woods after dark can lead to all sorts of trouble not just sexual but shoes covered in dog shit!

I usually leave my car and maybe set up camp on a picnic able or bench so don't agree that a car has to be involved to call it dogging. I never prearrange either because uncertainty is part of the allure
