So this happened a while ago in my last job. It's 100% true so I've changed names just in case.

I'm my last job I used to run a small pub in a quaint seaside village, being one of a handful of pubs you get to know the locals very well and see them week in week out.

It had been a long day and I was trying to tidy up when she sat at the bar and pulled me loudly so everyone can hear. What you going to do about this music? She asked and I told her we have to keep the music to most people's taste and nobody else is complaining. Well I can't dance to this! This pub is rubbish I'm going elsewhere! She started shouting.

Thinking she was about to leave I turned to walk away but she just sat there complaining to the other customers. Now I'm a patient guy but she was really hitting a nerve until I snapped. I turned the music off completely and encouraged everyone to drink up and leave.

Bec sat there in shock like I've just punched a puppy. What have I done she asked, I gave her both barrels. You've sat there all night moaning and complaining about everything, I've had enough of your stuck up attitude and if you don't like my pub then don't come back! I snapped at her.

Realising what I had done I turned to her husband but he was too d*unk to care that I've just shouted at his wife. Bec started to cry and walked out. Finally I can close and go home. But no Bec stormed back in after the last customers left and just stood there looking at me with makeup running down her cheeks.

Can I just say something she said softly. Sure. Nobody has ever spoken to me the way you have,nobody ever dares to put me in my place. And she turned and left.

Several weeks passed with no sign of her which was a relief. Hopefully that's the end of her I thought. But I was very wrong.
