It's more than a kiss. It should be. It's a resolution. It's the conversion of mental energy to physical; Something that sits in the realm of potential becoming kinetic.
And of all the things you think about, it's what you come back to. What you imagine. Will it be what you hope for or will it be a moment of grim realisation?
If it comes at all.
So there's flirt and discovery. You may have seen the object of attention from afar, heard fractions of voice, thrilling cadence carried across the chatter of a room, and they stand out little sparkling seams of precious metal amongst dull rock and ore. You've made tentative exchanges. And there comes the moment of that kiss, whether it's an offer that is gratefully received or whether it is a borderline act of theft.
It catalyses attraction into connection. And it's memorable whatever the context and environment.
It might be the culmination of longing, pivoting around a hand on throat against the wall of a hotel room, or an impulsive, instinctive demonstration of intent taken in a snapshot opportunity in the still lingering haze of cigarette smoke. Perhaps it's a need you act upon in the back of a car while the eyes of your lover witness the moment in the rear view mirror.
Wherever it is, the second lips touch you'll know. And whether there's a second will be confirmation that knowledge was shared equally.
Wherever it is, and whatever else you may do, those kisses will weave their way through the rest of your time, in mind and in body.
You'll entwine and melt into each other in tryst. Solicit squeals and whelps and marvel at the marks you leave behind in the act of claiming, and the reciprocated joy they have in the wearing of them. Teeth will meet breast and thigh and acquiescence and surrender will give way to something primal, raw and magical. You'll feast upon each other in a symphony of sighs and growls. Screams of exhilaration and exultation. You'll lie in sanctuary, stroking and soothing. Sharing the tranquility in the eye of the storm, savouring the moment as much as you'll savour the impending electricity.
And whatever you do, whatever may come, it all started with that kiss. |
