The skiing trip to Italy turned in to a bit of a mare! Fuelled with too much booze from lunch time and trying to overly impress my Uni peers I had a ghastly accident - all gung ho on the 'Black' rated 'extreme'track I was flung 10 ft in the air and ended up in hospital with a broken ankle and all the Tendons in my right wrist so torn and bruised it would have been just as well broken too.

I got back to old blighyty with a cast on my leg and a heavily bandaged arm.

I was at Uni in Leeds sharing a flat with three other lads in our final year. It was decided that it would be best if I went back home to my own home in Berkshire to recupirate and at least Mum and Dad had a walk in shower although that exersise was going to be tricky.

To make matteres worse mum and Dad were going on holiday to Florida for three weeks. My sister lived abroad so I was essentially going to be left to fend for myself. I was in constant pain with my wrist despite some heavy duty pain killers.

On a positive note I was back in my own bedroom with all the luxuries of home.

I could just about use my PC so doing some work was possible and I had my big Televison to watch as I drifted off on my medication.

Mum looked after me on the few days before she and Dad left helping me where she could and the meals of course are were brilliant. Home cooking- what's not to like.

And then they were gone.

I was sitting at the kitchen table in my dressing gown one morning feeling sorry for myself when I heard the front door.

I hobbled down to the hall and opened the door and there was Aunt Jane!

" Hello darling - Mum's told me all about your accident and asked if I could drop in and give you help out when I was free."

Aunt Jane was about 55 - 5'5" in height with dark hair, hazel eyes and round face but she was still very attractive. She was a wee bit over weight perhaps, curvy and she had a huge rack. She was married to uncle Jack on Dad's side. They were still married but I was aware that their marraige was one of convenience after some years of marraige problems. Uncle Jack was a very wealthy man - a financial director for one of the major Banks. They still both attended occassions - Parties, weddings etc as a couple but it was clear that there was little in the way of affection for each other.

"There is no need I could have managed" I grimaced as I lowered my self on to the kitchen chair.

Jane smiled that knowing smile.

" well lets see if I can be a wee help - love the rugged look" she said as she raised my head up by the chin.

" You need a shave"

I ran my good hand through my hair.

"You don't like my Tom Cruise look?"

We both laughed and then Aunt Jane offered to make some breakfast for me.

" You need a shower" she said "how are you managing with that?" she asked.

" Its a task" I said point to my cast.

Aunt Jane gave it some thought.

"Let's see if we can help you; we'll need a plastic bag for that cast and some tape; it's been a long time since I finished my nursing days but I think we'll find a way..."

Part 2

A short time later Jane had managed to tape a bin bag around my leg to my knee and I ran the shower for me.

Let me know if you need me to come in and scrub your back" she teased.

"Aunt Jane!"

My usual 10 minute shower took 40 mins but it felt great even if it was a struggle. Anyone who has ever tried to do a task with one hand will appreciate.

I managed to clamp a towel around my waist and I hobbled down to my bedroom.

After breakfast Aunt Jane got me some provisions from the supermarket- convenience meals mainly, all of course that could get nuked in the micro along with with some PIzza and stuff for sandwiches. She even got me a couple of six packs of beer!
