When I was younger I went into the Army and Navy stores to buy some flares which were years out of fashion but they still had them in stock.

Must have been about 20.

I found the rail of jeans and took a couple of pairs to the front and a lady in her fifties was at the counter.

I asked to try on a pair for size and she pointed to a changing room that was partially hidden at the side of the shop.

She then walked over to the changing room bringing the flares with her.

In here she said as I entered the cubicle she smiled and put the flares on a peg and left me alone in the cubicle.

I tried on the jeans which were quite tight at the top and very flared at the bottom.

I was doing the zip up but it got snagged and I couldn't zip it up or down and was unable to slide them off as they were on so tightly

Eventually I looked from the side of the curtain and saw the woman who came over and asked what was wrong

I pointed to my snagged jeans and told her that I was stuck
