I’d been single for 3 months when the washing machine in my new flat decided to break,

I ordered a new one online but had to wait 3 days for delivery so googled local laundrettes as I couldn’t leave the mounting pile of washing until my new machine arrived.

Luckily I had a laundrette less than a mile away so bagged up my clothes and took them to work with me that day and planned to go after work.

On Thursday I got to the laundrette at 8.45, loaded the machine and sat opposite the door,
