Once home she messaged first Martin, then her handler Harry, before sending her love to Graeme.

Martin was the first to reply, unusually unsure as to an appropriate course of action regarding Kendo's offer of spying on Alan.

Harry then replied saying he would be seeking further guidance from his superiors.

Graeme's reply arrived later, just asking her to take care and saying that he loved her.

After swapping her Sim back to her Manchester one, Ellie re showered and lay back on her bed, wrapped in her fluffy white bath robe and pondered on whether she was going to cope with the foreseeable fall out from Alan's demise.

Tired from her evening's excitement she quickly drifted to sleep, only waking some hours later to see the large frame of a shadowy figure looming over her.

"Apologies Stacey" the voice said, "I let myself in when you didn't answer your phone, or the door".

As Ellie gradually came to, she realised that it was Derek standing at the foot of her bed.

"Alan is back from London now and wants to see you this evening. He was worried about your apparent silence, so asked me to pop around. Everything OK?"

"Just tired, Derek. A busy night" Ellie said, stiffling a yawn as she spoke. "What time is it?"

On finding out that it was 4 pm, Ellie realized that she had been asleep far longer than she thought and must have been far more tired.

"When does Alan want to see me?" she went on.

"I can drive you there as soon as you're ready?" Derek replied.

"Where? Dress code?" she answered.

"His central flat. Jeans and T shirt, I don't think he has plans to go out".

With that Derek left the room, to leave Ellie over thinking about the possible scenarios Alan might wish to talk about.

Emerging 10 minutes later with a simple white T, figure hugging classic blue jeans, hair in a pony tail and virtually no make up, Derek still thought that she was one of the most naturally beautiful women that he knew.

It wasn't long before he dropped her off at Alan's flat, bidding her farewell as he headed back to his family.

She buzzed the intercom and admired herself in the mirrored interior of the lift as it made it's way silently to the 5th floor.

Alan greeted her with a warm smile, as he opened the door,before she noticed Kendo arising from a deep leather chair, a broad smile on his face, a whisky filled tumbler in his hand.

"Lovely to see you again, Stacey. And so soon!"

Ellie regained her composure in the blink of an eye, "Just a white coffee please, no sugar".

She went across to greet Kendo with a kiss on both cheeks, remembering her lips had been around his cock only hours before.

"Kendo came to tell me that he asked you to gather information for him, about me, but you turned him down"

Ellie shot a look at Kendo, no longer sure what was happening, as this was not exactly what she had said.

"I'm glad about that, Stacey, as I wouldn't wish any harm to befall you. You see, I asked Kendo to test you, as I believe that I have a mole in my operation somewhere and the obvious candidate was you!"

"I enjoy working for you, Alan and the money and perks are great. Why would I risk that?" Ellie replied, her mind still racing.

"True" Alan replied, "but I still think someone is leaking information. What do you think about Derek?"

Ice ran through Ellie's veins as she thought about the loving family man being set up rather than herself.

"Absolutely not" she replied,"his loyality is beyond question"

Alan grinned, "You are a brave woman Stacey,or should I say, Ellie. Even when offered an escape

route, you remain loyal. Unfortunately for you, I now know who you are".

Ellie's heart was now pounding, but externally she still appeared stress free.

"Of course Stacey isn't my real name" she replied. "I work as a fucking esc*rt, for God's sake. I'm hardly going to use my birth name".

She'd played through this moment with her bosses, but hoped it would never come, but stood firm, in the hope that Alan was just calling her bluff.

She knew her background story was solid for the most part, but careful digging in Police records would potentially be catastrophic.

"Still in character too" Alan continued, "It's a shame that I can't believe you, though. Unfortunately for you, I have friends in the Police too".

At this point Alan showed Ellie a photo on his phone, of her passing out from Police college, with a group of other new recruits.

"Do you know what makes it worse for you, Ellie?" Alan sneered smugly,

"It was one of this class that recognized you and informed on you. You must have really pissed them off!"

Ellie had no where to go. She toyed with the idea of taking on the 3 men in the room, but decided against it.

Whilst contemplating her next move, Ellie felt Derek's strong arms around her and struggled briefly before succumbing to the fumes from the chloroformed cloth pressed over her face.

She came to in a darkened room, naked, with wrists and ankles bound with cable ties. She also had a gag made of cloth tied around her mouth, interferring with her breathing and making shouting impossible.

For the first time since beginning her undercover work, she felt helpless, not knowing how this could possibly end up with a positive outcome.

Her hearing, however, was working hard, trying to glean information from every decibel of sound she could hear.

Outside the door, Derek stood guard, torn between loyalty to his boss and the woman who had saved him back in London. He chose the former, for fear of retribution to his family if he chose the later.

Across Manchester, in Alan's central flat, Sharon was venting her anger against him.

"You fucking idiot, Alan. You couldn't resist playing your hand to show how smart you are, could you? Now we've got an undercover cop tied up in the safe house and the huge fucking problem of what to do with her!"

"How often do you think she checked in? Did your source know that? Who was her handler? Are they looking for her now? And where's the first place they're going to try? Jesus Christ, Alan. What have you done?"

Alan had gone from smug and triumphant, when he'd first confronted Ellie, to bitter regret as the realization of his actions now dawned on him.

Previously when people working for him had turned out to be spying for rival operators, he had simply made them go missing; buried in a wood somewhere, or deep within the foundations of a new build elsewhere in the country. This couldn't happen with Ellie, so an alternative had to be arranged.

It was Sharon that came up with the solution.

"Stacey, or Ellie, is still on the books as an esc*rt, isn't she? Perhaps if she was involved in a bondage sex game gone wrong? Tied, then asphyxiated by a client that then did a runner? Someone can then find her when she failed to turn up for her next client".

"The Police would still suspect us though" Alan interjected.

"Why not just 'disappear' her?"

"It would have been so much easier to just sack the bitch, Alan, rather than play your hand! I've no idea if they're already missing her!" Sharon replied.

At around the same time, in his Newcastle home, Graeme's phone pinged with a message from Martin.

"Hi G, heard anything from Ellie? She's been silent for nearly 24 hours and I've heard rumours that Alan's crew are on full alert in Manchester. Get back to me"

Graeme, however, had been working a long shift and had just gone to bed, so missed the message waiting on his phone.

Derek removed Ellie's gag long enough to sneak her a drink of water to quench her thirst.

She thanked him, but realised others had now entered the room, so said no more, not wanting to compromise him at all.

The 2 new men used the same chloroform method on her as previously, then bundled her into a large trunk and carried her outside to her a waiting Transit van.

It was still relatively early in the morning and the streets were quiet as the trunk was carried back into Ellie's flat and her sleeping form was taken out and after being showered, was shackled to her bed, using the cuffs that she herself had fitted.

Derek had driven the st*len transit, careful to wear gloves and a hat pulled down low, before disappearing to a remote industrial estate and torching it.

Ellie began to wake with the realization that she was strapped to her own bed, like a star fish, totally naked and exposed.

Sharon had already set up the fake punter's details and arranged for a fake booking phonecall to the agency from a subsequently destroyed, burner phone.

The scene was set. Ellie was ready to die in a sex game gone wrong.

By this time Martin had become even more concerned and arrived in Manchester just in time to see Derek driving the Transit away from Ellie's flat before following him to the location of the torching.

Thinking that Ellie may have been inside, he phoned the Fire Brigade immediately, as the flames were too intense to get close to and, watching from a distance and without being observed, was relieved that when the fire was extinguished,the van appeared empty.

Back at the flat, Ellie was being fucked by one of the 2 men that had carried her up the stairs, his large cock ramming mercilessly into her before he came quickly into a condom, which he then carefully placed in his coat pocket, to avoid leaving any physical evidence.

The second man carried on with the same brutal fucking, but also with a hand around Ellie's neck, gradually asphyxiating her.

As Ellie's consciousness began to slip away, she thought of Graeme, her plans for the future, before her eyes finally closed.

Martin kept on trying Graeme's phone, to no avail, so decided to head to Ellie's flat again, where, just as he was arriving, he noticed 2 masked men run out of the building, get into a waiting car and speed away.

Without hesitation Martin headed up to Ellie's flat, before pushing in through the open door.

Ellie was still on the bed, but without her shackles on, her breathing ragged and laboured, but with colour returning to her cheeks.

Two men were laying by either side of the bed, trussed like chickens with cable ties, blindfolded and gagged. Both looked to have gone 12 rounds with Mike Tyson and neither were going anywhere.

Covering Ellie with a blanket, Martin used her phone to call the Police,then, after checking that Ellie was OK, left before they arrived, to try and preserve his anonymity.

Across the city Derek was sitting in the car he had liberated from a parking lot earlier that day, his old C.O., George, in the passenger seat beside him.

"Just like old times, Sir!" Derek said, a huge smile lighting up his face.

"Absolutely Derek" his old commanding officer said. "I can't believe that it's the same woman I sat next to on the train. Fate, I guess".

"I couldn't leave her there, Sir and having you around certainly stacked the odds in my favour. Thank you"

"My pleasure, Derek. We now have to make sure no one suspects your involvement, so get back to work and I'll deal with the car and get back to you later"

With that, Derek opened the door and drifted off into the side streets, leaving George to dump the car in a quiet road, notorious for street theft and car crime, knowing that it would be gone within the hour.

Graeme finally picked up the half dozen messages that first Martin and then Harry had left.

He dashed out of the house and drove like a maniac to Manchester Royal Infirmary, where Ellie had been taken under police guard.

She looked battered, but ridiculously chirpy, given her ordeal, with clear marks on her neck from the hand intended to kill her.

It transpired that Derek and George had arrived just at the right time as she was drifting into a coma, thus saving her life by a matter of minutes.

Of course Ellie couldn't be sure it was the 2 ex military friends that had saved her, but she had a good inkling that it would have been.

She hugged Graeme tightly, vowing out loud to never do any undercover work again, whilst secretly wondering if they could make anything stick on Alan, with regards to her attempted murder.

By now, news had filtered back to Alan that his plans had not gone well.

He had been clever enough not to use his own men for the 'hit'and as professionals, he would assume that they would keep quiet and accept their punishment.

What he couldn't work out, was what had gone wrong. A drugg*d woman, shackled to her bed and she still escaped!

His police source had gone silent, concerned about their own exposure and he was getting no feed back from the streets, regarding new operators in town.

What he was surprized about was that the police hadn't been to see him yet. Either they had nothing, or, more worryingly, they were waiting for that one piece of information that would put him away for good.

Sharon had already left the house, bags packed, heading to the airport to spend some time at their villa in Marbella.

Derek was steadfast by Alan's side with sage advice.

"Just sit tight, Mr Latham" he said, "they'll obviously suspect your involvement, but haven't got a shred of real evidence to prove anything. I'm sure they'll be around soon though. You've nothing local that would incriminate you, have you?" he ventured further.

Alan thought carefully about Derek's words, before looking slightly concerned and heading back to his central Manchester flat alone.

Undercover police watched from the building opposite Alan's flat as he entered, looking over his shoulder repeatedly to check for obvious tails.

The flat appeared normal with no signs of either the lock being picked or the motion sensors having triggered the automated surveillance.

He opened his laptop and checked back through the recent coverage. There was nothing in between Ellie being bundled out, the argument with Sharon and his arrived 2 minutes previously.

Relieved he scrolled back, checking for an appropriate place to delete from.

His finger was hovering over the delete button as the door came off it's hinges from a perfectly executed battering ram hit.

Ellie's handler, Harry, reached Alan just in time to knock him off his feet and prevent the incriminating evidence from being erased.

"Alan Latham, I am arresting you on suspicion of orchestrating the attempted murder of Ellie Murdoch..." the rest of the words sounded distant to Alan's ears as he contemplated his fate.

"I need my lawyer" was all he could manage.

Back at the station, Alan was greeted by his well paid and extremely successful lawyer and on their instructions, remained 'no comment' to any further questioning.

Derek was pulled in, as was bound to happen, but was fortunately out of camera shot for the entire portion of the most incriminating footage, so was released without initial charge.

At least Alan could be happy that Sharon had escaped to Spain, before the shit had hit the fan. Unfortunately what he didn't know was that she'd been picked up at Manchester airport and was being questioned separately at another station, in the hope that it would drive a wedge between them.

The first crack in their unity came about when Sharon was confronted about their offshore Channel Island funds,containing approximately £4 million, of which she knew nothing. The next when she was shown footage of Alan with his arm around Sharon's best friend's daughter, at a night club.

By the end of the day, she was happy to trade a reduced sentence for all the information the police required and by the time Alan found out, the next day, his fate was sealed.

Over the next few days the case against Alan grew stronger, the additional information supplied by Sharon proving vital in sealing his downfall.

Ellie spent some time recovering back in Newcastle before heading down to Manchester again to pick up her personal belongings from the flat.

Packing her bag, she looked at the paraphinalia of her time as an esc*rt and realized that, on the whole, she actually missed it. The excitement was addictive and she loved fucking.

"Maybe I'll talk with Graeme about the odd weekend away" she thought to herself. "Stacey could make a come back every now and then"

Right on cue her phoned pinged.

"Hello Stacey" the message began, "I've only just heard what's happened. I'm hoping that it's ok to use this number. Love Amy xx"

"It's all been a bit complicated, but I'm fine" Ellie replied, "and please call me Ellie. I'll call you later xx"

The memories of enjoying Amy's company further firmed Ellie's mind that she would struggle to go back to 9 to 5 police work after her life over the past few weeks.

Graeme was supportive, giving Ellie time to think, but also being firm with ensuring that she received enough time to recover from the PTSD that she was undoubtably suffering from.

Ellie met up with Derek and George too, astounded that the random stranger on the train had been the one who had helped Derek to rescue her.

Derek, himself had managed to avoid the worst of the flak from Alan's downfall and had secure a lucrative job in a large security firm and was thriving.

Martin, using the leverage that Alan's financial woes had caused, had bought up virtually all of Alan's old property and the viable businesses at rock bottom prices, including the Manchester ones.

It would take the police many months to realise that there was a new Latham in town and this one was even more dangerous than the first. However, by that stage, it was too late, Martin's long game, including the tip off to Alan about Ellie's real identity, that Alan thought had come from his police source, had resulted in the chain of events Martin had been planning for years and successfully ousting his brother from power.

But that's another story, as is Ellie's further adventures with Amy and her old friend Midnight.
