Preference is always going to be bareback, I don’t know anyone who actually prefers using a condom, realistically though with loads of sti’s on the rise Joe bloggs in the club is gonna have to wear a condom cause I don’t know where he’s been dipping it or if / when he was last tested.

Prefernce is BB but the reality of keeping those we play with and ourselves safe means condoms.

Just as a health information, because this is not as talked about in straight communities; bareback is safe nowadays if you take PrEP (Pre-exposure prophylaxis). It is safer than condoms statistically. And can be taken by women also. Prevents transmission of HIV. Bareback in gay community is common since the advent of PrEP. Of course you should always check yourself regularly at a clinic for other stis. To be safe, catch them early, and avoid spread them.

PrEP is free on the NHS.

Get more info here: https://www.cdc.gov/hiv/basics/prep.html

I’m not advertising for bareback sex. I’m just saying that if straight couples have that fantasy, you can do it with little risk to the woman or men.

If ejaculation happens without Prep or condom; and you are worried, you also have a safe option: PEP (Post exposure prophylaxis). It’s higher dose and takes 1 month to take, but can be a life saver if you think you were exposed. Any clinic or hospital will give you that if you say you are worried and want to take it.

Have fun with safety!

Prep only stops aids, if you think that's the only reason to wear a condom, you might be in for a shock.

We have never played bare, but we do have a protocol for it if the situation ever arose where we met a couple or single who wanted to.

So far only 2 couples have ever met the initial qualifying criteria, and neither of them have ever expressed an interest.

Naturally we would prefer bare, but practically speaking at the moment it's not on the cards.

I believe it’s because hiv advertising is aimed at gay community and men that have sex with men. There was this perception in the 80 and 90 that it didn’t affect the rest (which is not true). So it is cheaper also, smaller community to target.

Unfortunately I think costs and prejudice are the reason. In 2021 there were more HIV infections in straight community in London than in lgbtq community for the first time.

I clearly stated in the post that it prevents only HIV.

And I clearly stated there are other stis we should be careful about. Please read the post till the end.

It’s also incorrect to use the word AIDS. Always use HIV. AIDS is only when a person develops the disease and it’s not under control. Nowadays more rare due to retro vitals.

It is definitely being talked about, I was first offered Prep I think in 2018/2019 (was definitely before covid) when I was having my usual sti tests, they knew I was a swinger and offered it to me, I didn’t take up the offer at that time.

I am now on prep - for my protection as condoms can split and again was offered it when having my sti check ups. The Dr did say he wished more swingers would take it so it’s definitely worth asking about if they do not bring it up.

Thanks for this explanation that it is being offered to swinger also. I'm so glad. This message shoul be out there so people can have their fantasies and fun safely, especially for the women that are at risk with loads and condoms ruptures.

Of course this all implies everyone should check themselves for other STI very regularly, every 3 months minimum, to catch anything early and stop any spreading. I know some people that test monthly if they are very active in parties. As soon as something is found they stop completely and get treatment.

There is also nothing wrong In using prep and condoms if you want to be 100% sure and barebacking is not a fantasy for you or your partner.

To each it's own! Just do it safely and responsibly

I really enjoy wearing condoms. Everything from the thrill of unwrapping it, to rolling it down my cock (or have someone roll it down for me), to the feel when it’s on.

It does mean I tend to go quite a while before cumming, but this is fine and it can always come off and finish off in other ways if it takes too long!

I only usually meet with one person at a time, so we take the necessary precautions so we can enjoy bareback.

But what I do find odd is. In the dating scene, tinder bumble and alike, when you get to the stage of first having sex, the girl (not in every case) wants to use a condom, after a while of fucking, they want it to come off.

Preference is bare but only if everyone provides recent clear tests and it takes a bit of planning to pick the least risky time. Condoms otherwise if we can't tick all those boxes.
