I'll never forget the first time I met Sally, I was 19 and out with one of my workmates. Sally was with a bunch of girl friends, but was easily the pick of the bunch. She was older than me around mid 20's short in height around 5'4", shoulder length blonde hair, the biggest, brightest blue eyes I had ever seen, curves in all the right places and incredible legs. She had dressed to impress and really show off what she had been blessed with. I gazed over at her a few times on the dance floor, totally transfixed by her movement her gaze caught mine and she smiled a smile that lit up her whole cute little face. I tried my hardest not to stare, but I honestly thought I had fallen in love right there and then. My mate nudged me, "way out of you league pal, and probably mine as well" he laughed
"Yeah I know" I replied
We conversed over the usual things, girls we liked at work, work, football, music and so on and so on.
"I'm off for a piss, your round" my mate shouted as the music became louder
I tapped his belly, and replied "You're not too far behind me"
I made my way to the bar and ordered our drinks, making my way back towards my mate. Before I got to him I saw Sally talking to a guy, who was absolutely wasted.
She was smiling, but making it clear she had no interest, but the guy would not leave her alone.
As I got closer she grabbed one of my drinks placed her hand on my chest and kissed me softly on the cheek and said "You were ages"
"Sorry fella, is she with you?"
Sally looked at me and nodded subtly.
"Yeah, afraid so mate" I smiled
"I didn't mean any offence" he slurred
"No worries" I replied
He hung around for a little bit, then Sally dragged me on to the dance floor.
She hugged me and thanked me for rescuing her. She told me that although he was harmless he had been following her all night.
"No worries, I'll be over there if you need rescuing again" I laughed.
I returned to my mate, "fucking Hell, you were in there mate" he smiled as he punched me on the shoulder.
"I wish" I replied.
The night drew to a close and me and my mate waited in the taxi queue, stood behind us was Sally and her mates. There just happened to be too many of them for one taxi so they were trying to organise who was going with who.
"Hi sorry to nosey in, but my taxi will be passing through where you live. I'm happy to share if it helps at all? "
Sally and another friend agreed to share with us, to cut down on costs and I ensured the taxi dropped them both off and we waited till they were inside before we set off.
Whilst in the taxi, I got chatting to Sally we had so much in common. I told her I was going to see a band in town in the next couple of weeks, and as it transpired she was going too. I gave her my phone number, and never expected to hear anything from her ever again.
She rang me the very next morning again thanking me for rescuing her and apologised if she had been a nuisance. We arranged to meet for a drink before the gig... |
