It was Monday evening when the email was sent around from the MD's PA.
"Tom from Head Office will be arriving tomorrow morning to walk around the site and meet some of the staff,everyone be on their best behaviour!"
I groaned as I worked in IT and I knew that meant a day of interruptions as they always had issues getting setup in the board room.
Sure enough the next morning everyone was running around like headless chickens before the visit of the group MD, we had been bought out a year ago and this was the first time he had taken an interest in this site so everyone was on guard.
9am on the dot, the PA burst in, can you come down to the boardroom asap to get the visitor setup on the wifi and boardroom system,
"Yep right away" inside I groaned, here we go another older MD guy who can barely use a laptop and can't work out the simple instructions I have printed on the desk!
I entered the room and found a middle aged guy early 40's at best, "Hi Sorry I was looking for Tom, he was having issues with the Wi-Fi"
"oh, that's me, he replied with a smile,Sorry I updated the drivers on this laptop last night and it won't connect now for some reason"
I was astounded that he new what a driver even was!
I moved over beside him and had a quick look at his laptop,I couldn't help but admire the smell of his aftershave.
"Now there we go, all connected" I replied after a minute
"Great thanks, do you have time to check something else for me, one of our supplier portals isn't loading for me,its in my history, will you have a quick look while I nip to the bathroom"
"Yeah no problem at all" I replied as I sat down and fired up Chrome on his laptop,straight into History and I can see the supplier portal is the last page visited, I couldn't help but look down through the other sites visited, banking, finance, the usual then down at the very bottom was Fabswingers.com! I hovered over the link to see it was his account profile Tomxxxx.
I made a mental note as I quickly sorted his Supplier Portal issue and left the boardroom as Tom had not yet returned.
As soon as I got back to the office,I quickly logged into fab and looked up his profile.
