Jay was a very successful business man who had worked hard all his life and was now enjoying the benefits of his success. He lived alone, having never married as he devoted his time to his work. His home was a large mansion which was in a private gated area and some may say was larger than he needed but he enjoyed it. Apart from him the only people in the mansion were his group of staff which included gardeners, cook, butler, maids and cleaners. He expected very high standards from them and at times there could be a high turnover of staff, but those that respected his privacy and did their job to his standards were paid very well. They all wore proper uniforms relative to their position. It was an open secret that Jay liked looking at the maids in particular as they did their jobs in proper old fashioned maid uniforms of black and white. He never made any inappropriate comments or advances towards any of his maids but they would catch him glancing as they worked. They wondered what was going through his mind but never said a word, for them the job was too good to lose.

Meanwhile across town a 30 yr old called Faye was preparing herself for an interview for a new job. She had a rough life and had struggled to keep going during most of it but was finally on her feet and getting by. She had worked in different jobs and was not afraid of hard work and took whatever work was on hand to get by. She had read about Jay in the paper and at times envied his life and his wealth but knew that envy would get her nowhere and she just had to get on with things. After ensuring her underwear was on properly she slipped on the black maids dress she had ordered specifically for this interview. When it was in place, with its white cuffs and collar, she placed the apron around her waist and tied it off. Fitting the flat 2 inch heels on her feet she put on her coat and headed off. She could not afford to be late for this conversation. About an hour later her taxi drew up outside Jay’s gates and waited until they were opened. She was deposited at the door where she was met by a butler who told her to follow him. She was led into a small sitting room and told to wait. About fifteen minutes later an older woman came in and introduced herself as Jane and explained that she was the head housekeeper and would conduct the interview. All was going well as Faye’s references were good and they described her as a hard worker. Jane explained a bit more about the role and the need for privacy and discretion. Jane decided to offer Faye the role on a three month probation period and she would start the following Monday. The role was live in which is one thing that attracted Faye to it as she was just about to lose her current accommodation. She was told that she was to do her job and keep out of Jay’s way. When Faye arrived back at her small cramped flat she was delighted with how the interview had gone and the fact that she would soon be living in luxury, even if it was in a maids room.
