It was the summer of 2018 and Lilly was driving South to visit her friend Jayne for her 30th birthday.
She had decided to set off in the early hours of the morning to miss the heavy motorway traffic as the journey was going to be a good 5 hour drive.
She had been driving for the last three hours and was already starting to feel tired and she still had more than two hours to drive, she really needed to get out and stretch the cramps out of her body, get some coffee and splash some water on her face, there should be a Services somewhere soon, she thought to herself as she drove on, she'd been driving for far too long, with the cramped interior and the car's vibrations that were getting on her nerves, she needed a break and soon. She sat up straight and deliberately focused her attention on the road, then at last she saw the SERVICES sign up ahead, she gave a sigh of relief, she indicated to take the next exit, not that it mattered as hadn't seen a car for miles, she slowed down as soon as she hit the speed humps, _lid down her window, the warm humid air filled the car, she leaned her head out the window, bathing her face in the breeze and letting it wash through her hair, she drove towards the far end of the car park, she needed to unkink her muscles and a good stretch and the walk to the restaurant would be good.
She opened the car door and stepped out onto the tarmac, she held the cuffs of her blouse against her palms as she stretched, throwing her shoulders back and pushing her arms out behind her, it was a trick Jayne had taught her years ago, holding the sleeves drew the fabric tight against her breasts as she stretched, just in case anyone was watching.
She was about to lock the car and walk over to the coffee shop when she paused, the breeze was blowing her skirt and even wafting inside her blouse, she opened the car door and reached into the passenger well to retrieve the hot heels she'd just bought for her friends party, she took them out of their box and kicked off her sandals, she slipped the heels on, she now stood about four and half inches taller than before, she knew exactly what the shoes did for her legs, as Lilly had great legs. She picked up the sandals and threw them into the car, locked the door and headed briskly across the car park to the coffee shop.
The coffee shop was brightly lit and icy cold, the air conditioner turned all the way up, she stood by the door scanning the place, there was a family eating at one table, another table full of youngish-looking women laughing and talking too loudly in the far corner, but mostly it was lorry drivers as far as she could tell, as she looked for the ladies room, the sign for the toilets was clearly posted on the back wall, and pointed toward a corridor way at the back, as she walked through she could feel herself being watched
Lilly was used to the stares off men, some of them put down their coffee cups or stopped eating to check her out, a few even leaning over to get a better look at her legs as she walked by. She felt like she was being openly appraised, even the girls stopped their chatter and stared at her.
She used the toilet and washed her hands, then splashed cool water on her face, it felt good and seemed to revive her, she dried her face and then brushed her hair, after freshening her makeup she decided she felt much better, she straightened her skirt and run her hands down the front of her blouse, feeling much better, and more like her old self.
She could still feel the eyes watching her as she stood at the counter, she ordered a coffee and Danish pastry to take out, she had decided to sit outside to get some fresh air and to avoid the unwanted attention she was getting. She paid the assistant and took her coffee and pastry and headed outside, the sun had just started to come up, she wished she had put her jacket on when she got out of the car as there was a slight chill in the air which made her shiver, she sat down at a picnic bench and hugged her hot coffee to her chest as she watched the sun slowly turned the early morning sky different shades of reds and oranges......
