Benidorm lock down

Stoke

All bars and clubs to close tonight from midnight for 15 days.

People only allowed to visit supermarkets, chemist's, doctors etc. Everything else will be closed and holiday makers to stay in hotel.

Feel sorry for those out there now or due to go

This is very much breaking news.

We've not got all the details yet but it seems like the whole of Valencia region is affected.

All bars, restaurants, sports centres and many other establishments have to close from midnight tonight.

Expected to last 15 days but could go on for longer.

This is now getting very shitty.

Not really a big problem for us (yet)

Lidl was like a war zone this afternoon. Never seen it as busy. Needless to say you cannot buy a toilet roll anywhere.

We just went down to the tobacco shop and it was well queued up outside.

Valencia is the first region to do this but I think it will be the whole country very soon.

We are more concerned that we get stuck here if the flight home gets cancelled.

It’s gonna have a massive impact on us as we can’t work, so can’t earn. There is rumours that if you have a contract you’ll get something but we’re all panicking about it

I agree with measures being taken, but the impact on the region will be massive before you even take into account those who will be hit with the virus itself.

That’s exactly why. My problem is when the bars close, everyone has been sucking up as much alcohol as possible, will there be trouble? That’s why bar closing time is so staggered

Everyone is in good spirits customer wise, but you just know what alcohol can do to some. Having EVERYONE leave all bars at the same time is a recipe for disaster. I hope I’m wrong

Yes it is still open at the moment.

Just been reading Euro Weekly News and they are reporting that holidaymakers are being denied boarding on flights to Alicante.

Only people returning home can board.

We gat as far as the departure gate at Liverpool late yesterday afternoon and Easy Jet told us are you going or not as we have to get the plane away, I would say about half boarded the plane, the rest of us were treated as leper’s, Easy Jet were disgusting how they treated us, 3 of our friends are already in Benidorm (3 woman) and they are scared to death how it is out there, they have bought a flight tomorrow (300 euros each) Easy Jet again but they seem to think it’s overbooked, I am currently on stand by for a drive to Benidorm tomorrow.........

Reigned now that we won't be going to gran canaria next Saturday, so thought ok come up with a plan b.
