They had hoped to be opening July but things have changed. They receive assistance in a similar way to our furlough and have it for another couple of months so will not be likely to open before then | |||

A lot of people got stuck in Spain in March and had to pay their own accomodation and now most insurance won't cover you if it's Covid related" Our insurance does cover us, we checked. The Canarian government is also covering the cost of accomodation etc for tourists for anything Covid related and as I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else than Venus Star, booking separately is our only option. As it is we're not flying from the UK this time so less affected by the cancellations. | |||

Well someone was just expressing their frustration at having their holiday cancelled, nothing more, nothing less but you felt compelled to make a point that seemed almost to belittle them!
You say I'm nit picking what you say but surely that's exactly what you did to them! It just seemed a totally unwarranted comment, that's all. But thank you for the update on flight schedules.
Anyway lets agree that it was a shame their holiday (like ours) had been cancelled only a few weeks before they were about to leave and leave it at that, yes?
And if your holiday(s) was cancelled as well then my sympathies and if you managed to get away then I'm jealous and hope you had a good time.

I cancelled my holiday because I'm caring for my elderly dad and my disabled brother, whose wife died recently, family first..."My sympathies to your brother. We had to cancel a holiday last year a couple days before we were about to leave because my daughter was seriously ill so know what's it's like. That's the hard thing about getting older, you have more of your friends and loved ones getting ill or worse. Sometimes life is an arse! Sounds a complex situation, so does one have a bubble with you or both? You must be rushed off your feet, then the worry of going into their houses knowing that all this covid crap us about! Sounds like you'll need a holiday soon! | |||

Yes I'm knackered..."That's the very very sad thing about this pandemic, it affects people in different ways, a lot of people will spend their last days alone except for their care staff (if they are lucky). Makes all those that keep trying to bend the rules especially to go on holiday and those that support them quite sad people really. And yes we all need a holiday for our own sanity at times but this will pass and we can all go on again though there will be a new normal! We have already booked our October 2021 hols at La Mirage but only have a 50/50 chance of it going ahead so if it does then that's a bonus!!!! | |||

During our last conversation, I promised her I would look after my brother...people have to do what they have to do..I just abide by the rules, I can do no more

Let's hope things are a little more settled by Match !" Let's hope so. Testing is a good thing, but is a lot of hassle and money at the moment | |||
