SPAIN

I suppose there’s a bunch of fabbers currently living in Spain... and I was wondering how the hell do they manage to find each other as there’s no option to set up ones profile location to Spain.

I just recently moved back and finding it difficult to find fellow fabbers in my area (north Spain) through this site.

Thanks

Costa Blanca Spain...

There are quite a few that live permanently in Spain and lots of others (like us) who have a property but pop backwards and forwards.

On the mainland the two biggest concentrations are on the Costa del Sol and Costa Blanca.

"North Spain" could be a bit thin though. You may find one or two if you are around the Barcelona area, but if your bit of north Spain is Bilbao/Santander then I think you will struggle.

Other than using the Spain forum it's almost impossible to meet other fabbers (or even find out who is around)

Maybe open a thread for your area and see who answers.

I would just add that your age range doesn't help. The vast majority of Fabbers in Spain tend to be 50+

For younger ones maybe better to explore the Spanish scene.

"You can always try tapping who is near you on your phone"

No. Who's near isn't fit for purpose.

It regularly puts us all over the place.

Best one was when it put us in Jamaica when we were actually in Singapore.

If it's the one I'm thinking of ("ON") then your Spanish will have to be really up to speed.

We tried it for a year and even though my Spanish isn't too bad, it wasn't that good.

Found that site good too especially the club invites it gave you a good idea who was going too.

Thankfully the better half of us is fluent, so we won't have any problems there. It's not that one though.

We don't actually use who's near but, going off the messages we get from people who do, it's hit and miss to say the least.

It regularly puts us on the Algarve and Tenerife seems to be another favourite. We've not been to either for years.

And as I posted earlier, it once put us in Jamaica when we were in Singapore. We even got a message from a guy that seemed to think we were close to him in Bermuda.

Benidorm Spain

I must admit I find it slim pickings here in Spain. Back in Scotland there was no shortage of single men so it came as a bit of a shock. I also think the “who’s near” is a bit screwed up here to as I get messages from people in the canaries, Balearics, Portugal and a few days ago the Czech republic, saying I’m showing only a few miles away

Also, when I holidayed in Benidorm, there were always lots around but for some reason, not so many now.

I do have a lot of filters on, although when I search who’s near, even before I go to search those who match my filters, there aren’t that many nearby.

I am in one of the largest ex pat areas in Spain too so I find it surprising how few seem to be online

I will say, it is an older demographic here though, but I was told that when I moved and started a thread asking what to do in the area

Besos is a lovely club run by a really nice couple. On the odd occasion I’ve made it over, it was kind of quiet, but I visited just after the Gita fria in September and that was horrific for so many in the area and roads had been closed.

I would definitely recommend a visit though. Clean, welcoming and lots to do there. Certainly one of the nicest clubs I’ve been in, and I always visit as a single female

Pretty much agree with all of that.

Like yourself the who's near puts us all over the place.

By its very nature (lots of retired expats) the greater Torrevieja area is an older demographic among the expats (us included) but the Spanish scene has a much wider age range and there are quite a few younger Spanish guys who are more than willing and able.

As for the Gota Fria. We were actually in the club on the day it hit (Thursday 12th). Needless to say very few others ventured out so it was just us and 5 single guys. Mrs had a great time though.

When we left, my run to the car would have given Usain Bolt a race and the drive back to Playa Flamenca was the drive from hell.

I'm backwards and forwards to Spain so always in a different area on a regular basis. Definitely agree about the north though, next to no users.

As for the south, I'm there on Thursday for just over a week and wouldn't mind doing a bit of exploring, not just the touristy bits but some of the hidden gems and quiet places.

Will be looking to attend a club at least once while over there as well.

You need an invite from a member who has met you to join on swingers, which they stick to for the reason they only want genuine people and not just money like a lot of other sites.

On the Mediterranean around the Costa Brava and in general north of Barcelona towards French border there does not seem to be British forum.

French,German,Dutch,Belgians local Catalan and Spanish people are friendly and open to fun with few hang ups about meeting new people.

My house is discrete and near the AP7 close to Figueres so I have been able to meet driving down to southern Costas. There are free sites to make youself known but you can plagued by fools there too.

With good will it is easier to have a succesful encounter with people speaking a foreign language than you migjt think.

Good luck and happy swinging
