Had a brilliant few days in Gran Canaria and thought we’d add to the various reviews out there to help people coming for the first time. With limited time we focussed on the area we knew and didn’t venture too far afield;

Friday Night - after heading to the Yumbo for a few drinks we moved onto the Cita. The Yumbo was a bit quiet but we were fairly early and it was the week after GC Pride which would have been the focus for many so was understandable. Always a bit of a party atmosphere there and there was still laughs to be had. At the Cita we went to the Comeback Bar which has been refurbished since we were there last year and is much better. It was packed and the service was as efficient and friendly as ever. Lots of nice and attractive singles and couples and in our mind definitely the place to start a sexy evening. We then moved onto Fun4All which was what it says on the tin - great fun for all. We had a good time drinking, dancing and getting to know people and overall really enjoyed the vibe. Just after midnight we moved onto Secrets and absolutely loved the changes they have made. Big, well maintained couples area but still with plenty of places to go if you want to meet a single male. A good mix of dance floor, playrooms and bar and a great place to end the night. Watch your bill as they tried to over charge us as per other forum posts (probably as a result of how busy the night was).

Saturday - again another quick trip into the Yumbo before heading to Imagine. We decided to give this another go because it has been refitted and some posts suggest is THE place to start a night out. Underwhelmed is the best description- welcome was functional but not friendly and we felt the atmosphere was oppressive now it is all fully under cover. It probably depends on the group you are in but we didn’t like the cigarette smell or the overall feel. We then went back to Comeback, Fun4All and Secrets - all of which were as busy as we have seen. Met some great people and absolutely loved all 3 places (after some of the people we met we’d like to emigrate to Sweden

)

Sunday - we added in a visit to Moonlight Dream in the Nilo which is a nice club. Again, the cigarette smoke in the bar was a bit much for us but the welcome was great and the play areas are really nicely decked out. We had been a bit concerned getting there and back but a €3 taxi gets you door to door from the Yumbo. Things get going quite early there so we transferred back to the Cita at about 1am where the party was in full swing in Fun4All. Met some more great people and decided to stay. Unlike Friday and Saturday we didn’t see many single males out so depending on what your thing is you may need to pick and choose nights.

We made a conscious decision not to go to 2x2 as we aren’t keen from previous years but wish we had nipped into Patricia’s from what we have read.

Hope this helps others deciding where to go and remember this is all just our perception so feel free to debate and give alternative views.
