Anyone like to give their views on the Venus BBQ this year? We've been told it's more of a social than a sexual experience, a lot of money for not much etc but also had good reviews from various people we've spoken to in the last week! So not sure whether or not to give it a go

€60 isn't a lot of money for what you get: Two meals, a free bar for 3 hours and use of the facilities for 9 hours.

You'd drop almost the same amount getting a decent lunch.

And the day is what you make it. You want a social, you can socialise. Want a sexual experience, no one is stopping you. We've done both when we've gone to the BBQs there.

We like it so much we're staying there this year instead of Gold, flying out tomorrow

You can’t book the BBQ anymore. It’s now done on a first come first served basis on the door. We had booked for Tuesday just gone, when we got there at 11.45 there was already a large queue to get in. We told the woman on reception that we had booked and she said it didn’t matter, they no longer accept bookings.

Chatting to a couple at the BBQ when we sat down for food, they’d arrived that day and checked in at 10.30 and told us there were already people waiting to get in at that time.

It’s a good day out and good value for money, but not sure I would go out of my way to queue for 2 hours to make sure I got in. They may well be shooting them selves in the foot by making it first come first served as many may feel like is that they won’t bother in case they don’t get in.

A queue of swingers outside Venus Star isn't going to attract much attention is it!!!

A great way to suss out the talent before you go in...and maybe swap numbers and hotel details.

I think changing the booking system will really backfire on them, but let's see.

We are just back from 2 wks in Venus.

They had so many at the BBQ that there were not enough beds. Maths obviously not a strong point. A few disgruntled visitors that had nowhere to sit/play after paying the entrance fee

We attended on Sat & Tues just gone and had a terrific time, with plenty of action! As previously stated though, get there early and join the queue, or else risk not being admitted or missing out on a bed. And don't forget your passports!

Next year we are going to stay there for a week after Freedom/Fetish at the Yumbo.

We agree with you guys !! We went saturday 9th nov for our first time OMG as soon as we arrived couples were getting Nawty.we were that impressed we went again yesterday tuesday,it was a lot more tame,so as you mentioned it depends on the people there that day..

We will say the Food alone is worth 59 euro per couple !!and reasonable drink prices too !! We have already planned our holiday for mext march so we get at least 2 x Venus fixes !!! The Marlins Xx

Miss C and I have been to Venus Star every single Saturday and Tuesday since we arrived in GC and have to say we are very impressed. We wish there was a resort that could compare in the UK. The food is amazing, the facilities are lovely and the staff are very friendly. It's good value for money. It's a very cosmopolitan crowd which for us adds to the flavour.

So far as the sex is concerned, it's what you make of it. If you sit in the corner with your arms crossed, no one is going to grab you and pull you onto a bed. Last week Miss C and I got the party started and before we knew it there was an orgy going on around us.

Now that the October rush has subsided a bit - does anyone please have any updates on the length of the queues for the Saturday and Tuesday BBQs

"Now that the October rush has subsided a bit - does anyone please have any updates on the length of the queues for the Saturday and Tuesday BBQs"

We went to all four BBQ events available and didn't notice any lessening of visitors.

We didn't notice any shortage of loungers. Some of the residents only came out of their bungalows in the afternoon.

On our first two visits there was a shortage of eating spaces but on our last visits they had laid out extra tables and there were plenty of empty places.

I might add that I had the chicken every time and it was never pink. In fact I didn't hear one comment about the food that wasn't complimentary.

To answer your question. Yes there were queues. But there needn't have been.
