Imagine bar attitude to single guys

Went tonight to meet a couple and single lady they were sat near the door when a woman opened the door they waved and spoke but told need to ask Tony if I was allowed in . When he came reluctantly let me in thanks to my friends. No welcome just which over priced drink can I fleece you with. Customer service he doesn’t know what that is. When I wanted to leave waited at door for ages totally ignored went to bar asked nicely can you let me out please saskia said were busy with couples it will be in a bit. Been coming here 12 years 5 times in imagine bar against my better judgment to meet people not once welcomed or treated correctly. Single guys if you want to be treated like a twat this is your place otherwise try Caser’s or Patricia’s they welcome guys and don’t treat you like shit. Sadly you can’t educate idiots so no change with these owners

Go to the Comeback instead.

Tony & Saskia do like to maintain a rather frosty welcome to new visitors to their bar...rather than the warm welcome that they promote on this site.

A second rate bar best avoided.

Mental image of spoilt little brat, all the best toys, yet no one wants to play with them....points and says "it's all their fault mummy"

Delighted Imagine continue to "Reserve the right to refuse admission" (sound familiar, yeh, check out any Bar/Club at home) and limit(quality control) the number of single guys. We know and spoke to plenty of single guys in it, all polite and well behaved...and none with a chip on their shoulder.

Perhaps some would be better off talking to Lola, outside Cita, rather than being spiteful. Doubt this sort of post improves your chances of getting the ride, you obviously believe you deserve. Enjoy the rest of your holiday

Rather childish assumptions as you have no idea who I am or what I enjoy.

If you must share your Ill conceived opinions it would certainly help to make you appear less stupid if you did some research first.

It appears from my private messages that a number of couples also agree with my observations.

Please don’t further clutter this thread with your Ill inform claptrap

If you fill a bar with to many single guys or girls or even just couples, people will stop going there as to be a balance. . So first come always rules better luck next time.

"If you fill a bar with to many single guys or girls or even just couples, people will stop going there as to be a balance. . So first come always rules better luck next time. "

I think the OP was referring to the proprietors attitude and lack of courtesy rather than their attempt to balance the numbers.

Whatever their attitude is/isn't, we've met single guys there, every night. All were polite, well groomed and mingled freely, we didn't hear one bad word spokrn about any of them. Compare that to fun4all, Secret and 2x2....guys that haven't changed from a day spent meerkating, guys that follow couples and females everywhere, guys that openly wank, in the belief they have a big cock and couples/females will be so impressed, he'll get a shag.

If guys on here are SO established, SO well versed in the workings of Fab, they wouldn't be posting so negatively. It's also amazing how they get inboxed with so many messages of support.....we really believe that one!!

Lots of 'Swingers Clubs' further round in the basement of Cita that will let guys in....enjoy!

Think the op is entitled to voice his opinion as much as anyone else. We have found the same there just as we have in other clubs at times. It can be down to many things and you just put it behind you and move on

We also went to imagine bar last week, wasn’t impressed with the owners attitude towards us.... very very rude. You should not speak to customers like they are shit on the bottom of your shoe !! We did return to give it a second go, and was virtually the same. Will definitely not go back in there next time we are in GC, comeback bar far more friendlier and service with a massive smile every time c

We have been going to Imagine since it opened and think it is a lovely bar! Saskia and Tony always try to get everyone to mix and introduce people to others! We have never had a bad experience there tbh and would definitely recommend it to others! Like anywhere there can be quiet nights etc but Your holiday is what YOU make it

Controlled access, buzzer on door. Much more private and people are dressed down, as there's a playroom

We were out there recently and in May but mainly hung out in Comeback and Secrets where we met plenty of respectable well dressed men and couples. All of whom shared the same opinion as this articulate gentleman about Imagine Bar. We didn't bother trying it as I prefer to wonder into a bar and leave without pressing buzzers. I've heard from local guys that the attitude of the proprietors towards them is similar so the evidence is there to support his claims.

At the end of the day we should be respected for our views, we all have our own preferences.

Enjoy your hols folks xxx

Have to agree somewhat. Wouldn't expect to press a buzzer to get into a bar, a club yes, that is different. Still, it is their business and it obviously works for them

Think the change from an open access places to a controlled entry will see many changes in any place that does this.

Call it what you want but you can have the ability to control who enters.

If you look at other places in PDI a minimum drinks spend is a further option.

Thing is..your customer service towards people has to be consistent to everyone because old customers will die off and need to be replaced..

Come a long way from Chapperal they have.

As a couple, we have always felt the same sad to say. Since they've moved Imagine into Cita, we try it every time we're in GC and every time we are disappointed.

And it does indeed come from the owners attitude /demeanour. Out in 2 weeks but - with a locked door policy now, we won't be making the effort to see the changes.

Funny how people can have such different views. We loved imagine.

Also I think the buzzer access was needed with the addition of the play room, as family's and vanilla would be pushing.

We tried comeback bar and only criticism is how open it was. Especially for girls who dressed for the club's and had passed buys stirring

I only read the forums now

but, the thing for a single guy to remember is the sceane is mainley for couples and single fems, single guys are surplus to requirement and will always be that way, therefore clubs and in this case bars, can restric numbers and charge what they like for entry. That said there is still a place single guys who look after themselves and dont act like morons because i have met some smashing couples and single girls . I went to Imagine on my last visit knowing i could have been turned at the door, as i had heard some guys had been refused entry so, not good for a guy esteem but, i think they recognised me so i got in. I prefer Comeback as its open and i can chat to people but i do understand Imagine has gone for the more intemit feel the bars and clubs are diverse which means there something for everyone but also means you wont fit in everywhere

It seems pretty obvious that if you have a playroom then licensing or permits are going to require a locked door it’s the same in fun4all, the comeback bar has no playroom but we also love this bar

As it's the end of my holiday I'm going to give my opinion on Imagine.

First night there, came As part of a mixed group of friends (uneven ratio of ladies to gents). Saw a sign stating that it was €25 entry for single guys, was very relieved when this was waived due to knowing said friends who were already inside.

Inside it was very busy so no I didn't get the "warm and personalised" greeting but I did find the staff to all be polite, amicable and professional as well as being exceptionally busy. I visited Imagine a few other times throughout my stay and not once did I encounter any rudeness or poor attitudes towards customers. I did notice that as the bar became less busy the staff did become more relaxed and smiley. Perhaps people are taking a negative view by interpreting the business of the bar staff as rudeness??

As for Imagine bar itself, I liked the layout and the bar prices were reasonable and on par with other places. I understand the need for a buzzer entry as it's an adult orientated place and there is a need to restrict entry both for patrons safety and to protect the sensibilities of unsuspecting members of the public who may otherwise just wander in. The need to buzz to be let out is an inconvenience but short of having somebody man the door constantly it's probably the only way to stop any Tom dick or Harry opening the door unauthorised.

The only criticism I would make is that the bar gets incredibly full which makes it a little hot and stuffy inside, perhaps some fans would be helpful?

I did try out Comeback and liked it as a friendly and relaxed bar, but I did find it quite crowded and everyone spilled out into the walkway which is shared by the German pub next door. I prefered the closed door policy simply because it allows for a more adult atmosphere and less likelihood of causing offence to others.

I visited this bar for the first time in September as a single guy. I be honest it was first venture into any type of swinging environment and thought it a safe start.

So plucked up the courage and hit the buzzer. Saw the 25 euro entry fee sign and though ok sure why not let’s give it a go.

Tony opened the door looked me up and down and said hi I said ok to come in he said no problem and no fee charged.

Walked up to bar treated like in any other bar ordered a drink and no issues.

Have to say about 8-9 couples in and me another bloke and as said first time shit nervous and made to feel comfortable by staff and other couples. I would return.

To be honest I think buzzer a good idea as felt safe in the place.

There's a sign above the door but it seems like it's just a deterrent for unsuitable patrons. I don't think any guy who makes a decent first impression would have to pay it.

We think Imagine does a great job, let’s be honest there are only two pre club venues in town, and they need our support to survive just as we need them to enjoy a good night out.

So rather than name and shame hard working people trying to do a job, why not be brave and voice your complaints at the time, let’s not forget there are many languages spoken in GC and on occasion miss understanding are bound to happen. I am sure all businesses would rather have the opportunity to put things right at the time, rather than listen to rants after the event, which might have a negative impact.

Keep up the great work guys.

I do think a few on here overate it and the same few shoot down who ever gives a negative opinion on it. What the OP has said many people will think but don’t dare post on here.

Cap d’Agde, France

A difficult job running a bar/pub trying to make your business grow and yet having to be sociable to every Tom Dick and Harry. Over the years we've come across a multitude of disagreeable landlords/ladies and even down here in the Cap the famous Johnny Wokker could be incredibly rude at times. The bottom line though is that despite the bar owners peccadilloes, these bars are still the best places to go to meet people and have a good night!

I've always found Saskia and Tony to be super friendly and chatty. I like Imagine Bar, but I've only really been there in the quiet summer season! I can understand the buzzer due to the new playroom to be honest. You don't want just anyone wandering in if there's going to be playing!

Costa Blanca Spain...

Just as an aside.

The one swinger club in Benidorm has now closed.

For years on here we had threads asking why there were no swinger clubs in Benidorm?

Then when one finally opened, within weeks we had people on here slagging it off. Too small, it was quiet Etc Etc.

We don't know the exact reasons why the club has closed, but one thing is certain. A bit more support from the FAB community certainly wouldn't have done it any harm. With only a few exceptions (you know who you are) Fabbers mostly ignored the place.

Swinger clubs and swinger friendly bars are quite rare in the world. So use them or fucking well lose them.

Rant over.

i must admit i had two very differing experiences in Imagine. In April with female partner at the time welcomed with open arms by the people that run the place and very much enjoyed being in there, however in September as a single guy which i am since July i found as a single gut the attitude was completely different. Abrupt, a tad rude and as the only single guy there at that time around 10 pm i did not understand why the difference, anyone that knows me knows i am a decent kind of guy etc. I had the one drink based on the attitude and left. Personally whether as a single guy or otherwise i doubt very much i will return. How much different at Comeback. very welcoming and friendly which is how it should be. If Imagine do not like single guys they should not have them there at all unless they are already with a couple, easy to make known. Just an observation .Imagine do not have a problem taking money for drinks, change your attitude guys.

Ok, just to be clear, at Imagine, on every table, there is a price list of drinks, so no guessing. You pay for drinks on purchase, so if you have a query query it then....they produce an itemized bill for every order of drinks, so they cannot overcharge you for any drinks. They are the only Bar/Club I know of that do this and if they get something wrong(and sometimes people do), they will happily correct things. We've been overcharged in just about every other Bar/Club going...

This is an amazing place, it was busy last night.

Never ever been over charged and you can pay each time you get a drink.

The staff treated everyone well from what I could see.

There were a few single guys in there last night, all seemed friendly enough but we personally choose to spend time with other couples as that's are thing.

Saskia and Tonny work very hard to ensure EVERYONE has a pleasurable visit to Imagine. They are wonderful hosts. To put the door buzzer issue into context, it is a swingers bar with a playroom. When we were there last week there were people using it. Would you really want this bar to be open to people walking in with phones? It is very very easy to get hold of face recognition software and would you want a random message appearing on your Facebook account? I think not....Saskia and Tonny do a fantastic job at making everyone feel safe and included. Go to their bar and have a great experience.

We have known Tonny & Saskia since Gran Chaparral & I we think because their Dutch people might think the off handish but it’s different cultures & languages, there’s a different culture between north and south in this country & I know it as I’m from Devon & Kelly is from the North East

Been in the bar everytime we have been in Gran Canaria, we have found the owners to be very welcome, and also welcome single guys we have observed, if you feel the don't make a big deal about you then, I think you have the problem, we never go to clubs/bars to meet single guys and never will, that's our choice, and to be honest, we think single guys treat places like that as a cattle market, we have had lots of problems in the past with single guys not taking no for an answer, sorry but that's a fact, it seems to me, you are a demanding person, who as someone said on here has spit your dummy out. No wonder your single, we support the owners 100 per cent.

See you all in April xx
