Got a frisbee (storms flooding in Spain )

It’s so bad in the orihuela and Valencia region the worst I’ve seen ..... thoughts with the families and people who’ve lost their lives , houses , possessions and pets which include some of my friends . The local response has been good 3 of my friends airlifted today along with their animals and another 4 picked up in dingys . Hopefully that’s it over now stay safe people

Benidorm Spain

It’s been bad. So much devastation here. My table was swept off the balcony last night and way over the other side of the villa! Thank goodness there wasn’t much damage here other than constant electricity blackouts and some superficial damage. We’ve been very lucky. Others in the area less so

The local community have really been rallying together which is lovely to see however

Thoughts go out to those who have lost so much

Near Agde

We were lucky, got some very heavy rain but no damage.

We've lived in tropical areas but never seen lightning like that before.

Nearly two hours of strobe effect and no crashes of thunder, just a constant roar. Incredible.

So sorry for those who've lost friends or family.

We were lucky too... the worst of it missed us in Javea but still a spectacular show of lightning and some emergency pumping of swimming pool required, as it was overflowing.

At least the businesses in the Arenal didn't have a repeat of April's two metre deep floods this time

Costa Blanca Spain...

Down here at Playa Flamenca it was pretty hairy for a while. "Strobe show" is a very good description of Thursday night here. I've see heavier rain but not as heavy for so long. It went on for hours

There has been some damage, the road behind Campoamor beach was washed away along with a good chunk of the beach itself, and La Zenia will take a bit of clearing up. Thankfully though we didn't get it as bad as inland.

How’s the Villamartin area? I go there almost every year. I’ve seen the devastation to La Zenia and Campoamor beaches. Just unbelievable.

La Zenia isn't as bad as it looks. The left side of the beach (next to the restaurant) got a bit beaten up but the other side is fine.

Campoamor got it worse as the road behind got washed away.

Villamartin got a soaking (as everywhere else) but there are no reports of anything serious.

Most of the serious damage pretty much followed the line of the Segura river.

Orihuela, Almoradi and the surrounding villages right down to the estuary at Guardamar got the worst of it.

Thanks for the update, the video of the ‘river’ washing down the sandy car park onto Campoamor was just devastating. That’s one of our favourite beaches
