"How’s the Villamartin area? I go there almost every year. I’ve seen the devastation to La Zenia and Campoamor beaches. Just unbelievable." La Zenia isn't as bad as it looks. The left side of the beach (next to the restaurant) got a bit beaten up but the other side is fine. Campoamor got it worse as the road behind got washed away. Villamartin got a soaking (as everywhere else) but there are no reports of anything serious. Most of the serious damage pretty much followed the line of the Segura river. Orihuela, Almoradi and the surrounding villages right down to the estuary at Guardamar got the worst of it.

Thanks for the update, the video of the ‘river’ washing down the sandy car park onto Campoamor was just devastating. That’s one of our favourite beaches
