Getting around GC

Hi all,

We are off to Gran Canaria in a few weeks. Unfortunately booked in to a vanilla resort as booked well before we discovered the delights of Fab (although it is a resort we like and looking forward to the holiday anyway).

So the question is, If we wanted to get to PDI to be a day visitor at one of the clubs/resorts or even to maspalomas beach, what is the best way of doing it? What’s public transport like and how late does it run. We are staying at playa Taurito. Fiends have recomended Venus Star or mirage. We will probably only venture out one day/evening, so any suggestion. Thanks.

Can we just add, this wasn’t an open invitation for messages from Single guys wanting to meet us when we are there lol. It was simply a request for info. And interestingly none of the private messages recieved so far have offered any info

Hey guys.

There is a bus to PDI every 30 mins or so. Not sure what tine the run too though.

You can get a day pass to Venus star. Best days would be the BBQ on sat or Tue 60euro for food and drink. The club's just arrive really. Same with the dunes

Google maps can show you pick up points in you put in were u are and want to go. Also robes of the buses.

Ok thanks. Will try and have a look on google maps. So the bus runs from all resorts?

Venus star sounds good, I think our friends said the same.

Yea seems to.

It would be getting back to your hotel at the end of the night. Think the first bus back is 5 in the morning. So could still be out.

Thanks for the help, Google maps definitely more helpful than Apple Maps.

Looks like the buses run every 20mins and take about an hour with a 15 min walk either side. They run pretty late too by looks of it, so a day visit bbq at Venus star is definitely a possibility.

Yes could certainly make Venus star for a day pass or the dunes.

I'm sure you could make the club's, I'm sure there will be somewhere after still open till u got a bus in the morning if feeling adventurous

I think where the op is staying is past p. Rico and would be £30 each way especially late at night, obviously depends on your circumstances but we have cabbed it both ways from P.Rico and just had less nights out.

Though last couple of times and our upcoming trip we can virtually see the Cita from apartments

Venus Star bbq day is good but can be a bit clique as you get groups attending typically from mirage for a day out ! More action at mirage and being renovated so not sure about facilities

We are staying in an apartment in PDI ( near the Gold hotel ) from 3/10 to 10/10 so if any non smoking couples want to meet up feel free to send a private message. We aren’t ones for late night drinking then going to smoke filled Clubs at midnight and staying there until until 5 am. We prefer late afternoon or early evening naughty fun then out for food and drink after everyone has worked up a good appetite !
