Hi all, we are out 22nd Sept to 6th Oct, has anybody noticed a big rise in prices for us Brits with the piss poor pound?

What like almost parity? Every thing is going to feel bloody expensive so had better find things to do that don’t cost much.... now let us think what that might be??

Yep, it's going to be a lot more expensive when we go in Oct unless the pound has a final rally before it sinks below parity and we can get the euros then.

Must admit we are watching the markets daily and all we are seeing is the slide into shit.

Shit isn't it? When we bought our villa it was 1.4 to the pound and a 50 euro meal cost £35 of our UK pounds. Now it costs £48.

And of course, your house and other UK assets are now worth (in world terms) over 30% less than two years ago.

P.s. said on the Spanish radio this morning that one exchange at Heathrow was offering 97 cents per pound!

Madrid is expensive either with a good rate or not ... as for the rest, let’s face it.. if it’s 1 to 1, it’s still cheaper at €2 a pint instead of £3.50 a pint ... & a €120k apt is cheaper than a £150k apt for a similar place and the Uk one doesn’t have a pool ... so not that bad really is it ... stop being typically British and stop moaning and being pessimistic lol .. only saying

well the prices are not going to rise in the eu you just get less euros for your pound.

We have been going for the last 3 years, and apart from the pound-euro xchange getting far worse, we found last year that prices had risen quite a lot in general in Maspalomas. Just wondering if bar/restaurant/club owners are still increasing their own prices?

Looks like SuperMercardo is going to be our most popular supplier this holiday!
