Cheltenham

Looking at going to GC in April for our first time. Could anyone please give us some advise on location and hotels please?

We generally like a bit of luxury so 4 or 5 star would be nice. We don't want a full on swingers hotel however maybe an adults only hotel would be good.

A good location near the beach and near a good size town would be nice. Ideally close to a few swingers bars/clubs for the evening x

Thanks

So looks like either Gold or Bohemia based on recommendations.

Anyone been to both to get a good comparison?

We have only been to Gold and it was excellent

The rooms are great and the sun beds are very comfy also they do a great breakfast,

The location is also handy for 2x2 cita and the yumbo x

Didn’t rate Gold.

Beds are good, big proper double but not much room for sunbathing around the pool.

Has a terrace to sunbathe on but is spoilt by a noisy and smelly kitchen extracter.

Very little space to hang clothes or store anything in the room.

Bathroom is odd, the sink is pretty much in the room and you have to squeeze around the toilet to close the door to get in the shower, which is massive.

Only bothered with breakfast one day, it was ok. A good selection from a buffet but nothing special and at a tenner each not worth it.

Been in the bohemian restaurant, which was very nice, rooms look great but it is expensive.

Also stayed at the Catarina.

2 single beds pushed together which isn’t ideal but has extensive grounds, which were being refurbished, plenty of sun beds and a nude roof terrace.

Really nice rooms, stayed on 5th floor with a great sea view.

All inclusive food was good for an all inclusive but wasn’t bothered that we didn’t use it every day as the price we paid for Gold room only was the same as all inclusive at the Catarina.

Forgot to say.

Gold is adults only and we could see 2x2 from our balcony.

Catarina has adults only floors and you are literally across the road from Cita.

Cornwall. St Ives Bay.

We stayed at Abora catarina hotel it's was a brilliant hotel couldn't recommend it enough,

great location right near the cita centre.

we could see the cita centre from our room,

Right near the dunes.

Plus the hotel has an adult only naked roof terrace with have brilliant views.

We was there first week in November and are trying to get out there again this year. X

Been to gold twice, nice hotel, but after spending a couple of days in Venus star, it doesn’t compare, booked in for a week in may, it’s a swinger, hotel but it’s so chilled, fabulous facilities with great food, can’t wait to get back xx

Another vote for Gold here..

Location . tick

No kids.. tick

Not full on swinger.. just adults..but swingers stay so good for social

Brekkie imo is very nice buffet.. something for everyone and served till 12.. and I’ve stayed at many 5star hotels worldwide for business and. it gets my vote

It’s a quirky modern small family run hotel.. staff are amazing ..

cannot really compare to others as it’s different.. but has many regulars that return who like it.. so must be doing something right!

We have stayed at others in PDI and visited Venus and Mirage ..we find them too full on for a holiday.. we always return to gold.. we love it!

Caterina last October and going back in March

Clean, comfortable, typical all inclusive food, great nude terrace with fantastic views and it's conveniently located for the dunes bars and clubs (so is gold bit haven't stayed there)

It definitely worth the extra for a 5th floor room

We had booked the Sendido gran Princess for march as we went round for a look in October. It's lovely inside and has great entertainment but we decided to cancel and be able to walk to the dunes from Caterina.

One more to look at, Seaside Sandy Beach.

Top quality buffet restaurant, super large rooms, 3 fabulous roof top terraces for naked sun bathing, naked Spa(sauna steam rooms), fun to be had in both, 2 private bookable hot tubs with private sun beds for up to 10 people. Good location and very few children, in fact I've only seen a couple in 5 years of staying there.

For AI hotels, we've stayed in Suite Hotel and Sandy Beach.

Both are great, but Suite Hotel has better FKK areas (2 free Jacuzzis) where you'd have to pay for them at Sandy beach (private terrace at €50 a day).

I do have a short video of Suite hotels terrace, but can't show it here...

"WE stay at the Doloras apartments, it has two naturist sun roof terraces."

Have stayed at many hotels in PDI,(before deciding private bungalows suit us better) including Gold and Dolores. Gold is good, everything is spotless, staff are honestly amazing and it is Adults only but things like very little balcony space, lack of views(unless you pay for it), no nudity allowed and crowded pool area, go against it, for us anyhow.

Dolores is popular with some, BUT our experience was of a small grubby room, with broken fitments and staff who were disinterested, bordering on rude, also everything in the room costs extra, right down to a remote control for the ancient television...and the internet, sometimes advertised as free, is only free for 3 hours! There were also numerous kids and babies staying there, divebombing in the pool etc and parents struggling up stairs with buggies. We checked out 5 days early. Now, it IS in a great location for beach/bars/clubs and the beds were spotless and comfortable but it depends what you are expecting.

We now rent private bungalows, where we can go nude and entertain freely

Would have to agree with the above. We’ve been going to PDI for 10 years. Started in hotels but now rent through Airbnb. Gives us more freedom to what we want, with who we want and when we want. It also doesn’t tie us to fixed meal timings. For £60 a night you can get a reasonable apartment. For £100 there are some really nice places.

AI has proved to be a waste of money for us, hardly spend any time in the hotel. There are some lovely hotels, Bohemia suites, Rui Palace, seaside sandy beach and Monica but it’d be a real walk of shame going back to them in some of the states we have ended up in at 5am!

The last place we would stay again would be the caterina; 3 star masquerading as a 4....

We love Gold and whilst some of your comments about the pool area and terrace I can relate to I rate the room and breakfast highly. However we've opted for the Caterina as it's all inclusive and have a nude sunbathing terrace which will be our back up plan for days it's too windy for the beach.

"Great! So which clubs are best? "

Our favourites are Comeback Bar (if anyone says it's closed check first as some of their competitors sometimes say they are closed), the Fun4All and Secrets. These are all in the Cita Centre. We've never tried 2x2 as heard negative comments but also there is only one night when single guys go. Our preference are clubs where there are single guys.

Kiosk 4 on maspalomas beach is a swingers area where the nude sunbathers hang out and socialise. You may see some venture into the dunes.

You will have an amazing time. We're there in May and can't wait. Went 3x last year

Just to clarify, there is only one night, in 2x2 when single guys aren't allowed, that is a Monday, couples night. There are single guys on all other nights. Sunday night is greedy girls night, if you like a few more guys. Good club, lots of action if you want it.Kiosk 4 is a beach bar on the nudist beach, where some swingers congregate, please remember there are nudists there who are not swingers and bear in mind there are families too. Some do go into the dunes to play
