Canary Islands

Just read on the cabildo website they are planning on closing the dunes road from the Rui hotels roundabout to park hollandaise roundabout ..

From mid August to October.. for a study to see what impact the road is having on the dunes .. (happens to coincide with the filming of wonder women happening in the dunes at the same time)

So anyone planning a trip in to the dunes this summer .. it will have to be on foot

Fuerteventura/Gran Canaria

Just leave the car at Riu Hotels and walk through the shoreline. It’s a lovely walk. And I think there will be less families at nudist area

Hmmm..... probably over end of September / beginning of October, we usually cycle from the Barcello, any idea if that'll still be possible?

Nothing has been said with regards to the actual beaches .. I assume they will still be assessable.. just restrictions around the areas of filming ... One just before the Rui commingled from Puerto and the main one is behind the abandoned building at the don Pepe roundabout on the el Jablito side ..

As I find out more I'll update the post

Thanks for that information. We are visiting mid September so it will affect us as we visit the dunes most days.

"are there good nudist dunes behind the abandoned building on don pepe roundabout?"

No the coast line is all rocks .. the area directly behind the disused building (a homeless man has made the building a yoga lodge .. not window or doors) is a huge filming locations all part of the wonder women set ..

By the sound of it you will still be able to get to the Rui and then park and walk down the beach still getting access to the dunes by the beach bar etc

Some of our photos (the ones with graffiti) were taken in that half built abandoned building. It is, or was, a great location for photography.

So the dunes road has been closed for 4 days now .. from the second roundabout at the RUI and from the don Pepe roundabout (graffiti ..yoga lodge) you can still get on to the dunes via the beach at the RUI but then it's a walk down to the beach bars so will most definitely be much quieter on the dunes .. road now closed till mid October ..
