The beaches at mal nombre are our favourites , quiet , you can shelter if the wind blows ,, u need to watch the tides , and a beach bar within a good walk , we always end up in the same shelter every year , the beaches were recommended by a fab member on here

I generally stay in the Rui Hotels and use the dunes to the south. Lovely soft sand, ok for getting naked and there are Coast Guards in attendance who keep everyone safe in the water which can be quite rough at times. Seen and had some fun too.

Corralejo: Quite busy generally but more pervs, voyeurs and guys looking for guys. The area is massive too.

El Cotillo: Much quieter and more obvious where to find fun but less of the pervs with rucksacks wandering around. It's easier to spot the genuine players but you could go day after day and experience very little.

Many who use El Cotillo for purposes other than sun bathing and fishing etc are far more discrete than you may think. The beach bush telegraph is an amazing thing. Not only does it broadcast things people have inadvertently seen when innocently passing a stone circle, it also quickly identifies men who never walk in a straight line anywhere, but have an unerring ability to end up behind bunkers containing couples or nubile ladies. They are there day after day and are usually disappointed, having been quietly clocked by everyone else there.

I’m a massive fan of flag beach outside of Corralejo I presume you mean KM 22 one and the same walking or driving get past the gay guys and towards the wind surf schools. No chavs and lots of naturism going on. I go so often with girls or alone and you can find a stone shelter or just make up a camp. In this specific area you can hire a subbed if that’s your thing, the sea is lovely if a bit rough sometimes but just a chilled out beach and never over busy given its vastness. I’m going on April 11th for 10 days naked fun

I've never witnessed guys sneaking up on stone circles or hiding in bushes in Cotillo like they do in the dunes of Corralejo. Even on the headland they'll make themselves known before approaching us.

Believe me they do. We are here 6 months of the year. Most of what happens on the headland is gay, hence an almost constant daily stream of men heading that way, rucksack on back, towel over shoulder........Thursday is often a big day up there, possibly because the guy with the biggest dangler on the beach is there if the weather's good!

To escape derision from beach regulars, from the headland is not a good direction to approach from.

Forewarned is forearmed!

Never really on my own to be honest, always with my wife. We don't have a place in Fue but we were over 3 times last year. When in Cotillo we tend to head for the headland because it's pretty quiet there and if anybody does approach they're far more respectful than the average Corralejo beach perv.

We do see gays about almost all the time but the gay couples seem just like us, only with an extra cock. Just people looking for somewhere private to enjoy the open air.

I'm surprised that supposed liberal minded people find so much to laugh at but even so; given the choice beteeen the long lenses, the males having sex with each other not caring who's watching and the circle creepers of Corralejo versus the derision of the clandestine snigger club of Cotillo, I know where I'd rather take my chances.

NOT IN UK (Fuerteventura)

For those who have mentioned Mal Nombre, or considering visiting. This was by far our favourite spot in the island however, the storms earlier in the year have extensively ‘remodelled’ the beach - and not in a good way. The beach closest to the cafe/bar is largely unaffected. The beach around the headland, however has lost almost all of its sand and is now an area of rocks and boulders all the way to the water’s edge. Access to and from the lobster pots and to the sea is tricky to for all but the most sure footed.

The real problem is that the only ‘easy’ access along the length of the beach is higher up where the sand cliff meets the rocks. This takes strollers within a few feet of the rear of the lobster pots which, if you value your privacy, is less than ideal. We were there last week and there was a steady stream of people (including children) walking so close that we were blasted by the sand that they kicked up whilst negotiating the narrow path. Sorry to be the bearer of disappointing news.
