Broadly speaking the posher, smarter hotels are in Maspalomas but if it’s frenetic activity constantly on your doorstep which you seek the PDI is your destination.

Yes that's a fair comment. There are some nice hotels in PDI, Gold, Caterina, Riu Don Miguel, all central. Check out Trip Advisor, loads on there!

We stayed in the Chirica appartmentos right on the beach in Melonares in Feb, we found the 5 euro taxi to pdi was the only way to play at night as Melonares quiet at night but do try the Italian restaurant called time. It's food is lovely. Xx

Have to agree with Samiss, the Riu Don Miguel is a good option, I've just come back from a 10 day stay, it's close to the Yumbo centre, walking distance to the Cita centre (10 min stroll) and reasonably priced half board. Food is good huge choice and plentiful and service in the whole hotel is great.

Yes it is an all inclusive now. The Riu Palace Oasis is closing this month for refurb and is reopenjng 21 st Sept as a 5* half board hotel but it's £2300 A week for 2 staying so I thought why not try the Papyrus instead.

No, thay have a great track just outside pdi which is fun with a bar so could be the prelude to a great evening and a good way to make friends. Loser should do a forfeit lol. We are their for 3 weeks so have to have a break from the beach and it's great if it gets cloudy.

WE stayed at the Chirica appartmentos right by the beach on honeymoon in Febuary. Their is a really nice Italian restaurant just by the fresh water lagoon . Their sea bass (whole fish) was lovely. It's only 5 euros in a taxi to the Cita centre. Have fun and say hello if you see us by hut 4. 16th Sept to 7th Oct for us. Pdi this time for us.
