Playa del Sol - GC

Hi all - has anyone stayed at Playa del Sol in PDI before ? We'd welcome any comments please - we've stayed at Magnolias for 3 years which is very nice but we fancied a change. We like the idea of the roof-top nude solarium.

In terms of guests of the hotel tends to be older generation european tourists and gay men. Hotels has really Nice spacious apartaments, its nice and central close to everything. Sometimes tends to be loud at night as its close to the yumbo but in that period should be reasonable. At the ground floor you have a little 80's disco every now and then which is focused on dancing.

We stayed there a cpl of Yrs ago and was the worst hotel ever. The room was a disgrace. Stunk to high heaven and sheets,pillows and mattresses all stained with god knows what. Room 220 ,stay clear.. from what Iv read before, this isn’t everyones experience. There must be some nice rooms there too. Reception wasn’t interested. In my opinion,pick another hotel just incase. The rooftop terrace was ok. Pallets painted white with the obligatory covering . Plain and simple. Only good thing it has going for it is the location. As I say...... this isn’t everyone’s experience, only ours. Hope this helps

I stayed there in September after it had a refurb.

Rooms were very spacious, clean and had everything you need including 24hr porn channel lol

Roof top was great and staff were friendly and helpful plus location is good.

Didn’t hear any noise but I was at Cita centre every evening.

We stayed there a couple of years ago after refurbishment. Room was very good, well equipped very clean and comfortable. It's worth paying a little extra for a deluxe room, you get free WiFi and I think they don't back onto Yumbo.

Roof top was good, thick mattresses but there are no umbrellas so if it's very hot there is no shade. We have tried to go back but left it too late and its always booked up.
