Well the club seems to exist. Someone has above said they have seen a sign above a door so that is promising, and I don't think Cupido (an established club in Alicante) would put it on their website if it didn't.

Top quality websites are quite rare when it comes to Spanish swinger clubs. Cupido's isn't great but I've seen a hell of a lot worse.

I think the one thing that everyone is missing is that the vast majority of Spanish clubs cater for the Spanish market and while (in our experience anyway) they make expats and international visitors welcome they make up such a small percentage of the clientele that the clubs very rarely (if ever) push any marketing in that direction.

Benidorm could/should be a bit different, maybe a bit more like Gran Canaria but just one club will hardly attract anything like the number of swingers that go to GC.

I really hope this club survives but the numbers game will make or break it, and it will be from the Spanish that they get those numbers.

Some may think that because of all the Benidorm threads on here that there are hundreds of UK swingers in the resort every week. That really isn't the case.

I've just had a look through the Spanish section and had a quick count of the posts on Benidorm threads. There have been just over 500 posts in the last 4 weeks covering dates from early June to late November (6 months) and over 100 of those were for one week in November. Allowing for multiple posts I've halved it to 250 on here with plans to go to Benidorm in that period, I actually think that is quite generous BTW.

Take out the dreamers and schemers, the guys who would love to go but Mrs isn't interested, the guys who have a single profile and think they can sneak away from the family holiday but fail, and a few who need a satnav or tour guide, or both, if the venture more than one street from the "Little Britain" end of town you could probably halve it again.

So with an average of around 5 proper Fabbers per week in the town and a club open 7 nights per week how does anyone expect it to pay without the Spanish market? or spend any time and money on such a small group?

i am the owner of the new club in Benidorm. As you can see some Fabbers already visited us and there were no complaints

we are in Carrer Sant Andreu 6, just one street down the police station. My contact number is 722697980 and we are open every day at 5. We close around midnight on weekdays if there are no people and weekends dont have closing times. If you have any questions im always available here or on the phone. You are quite right the swinging scene in Spain especially the clubs are very different to the clubs in the uk and they will not survive in benidorm without the support from the locals as well as the touring international swingers. I have been going with my partner to Cupidos in Alicante for just under 2 years. The owners are genuine people who are swingers and are trying to give people what the want. Like every club though they are completely dependant on the people that decide to attend.

We have attended El Sofa when we havn't been able to get to Alicante and its very much a men and Tv haunt with a few brave couples.

No one seems to know how or where to find this club.

Has anyone actually been as we keep getting people enquiring when visiting our bar and we have no answers.

We went to try and find it one day but it must be so descreet as we failed so so must others.

Dollyz n Trollys Bar in the Old Town is a perfect haven for meeting and pre arranging meets to socialise and get to know other couples. We are a small intemate bar with a perfect chill out lounge for socials.

We Are A Social Bar NOT a Sex Bar are so in no way competiotion with the Swingers Club in fact it would be nice to work together if we could have found it to make enquiries to do so.

Benidorm could/should be different, as is Gran Canaria.

However apart from GC and one in Salou there are very few (if any) other swinger clubs in Spanish holiday resorts, most tend to be in the larger cities. There are five in Alicante BTW of which we have been to three (four if you count the now sadly defunct Bilitis).

Because of that they (as I posted above) cater for the Spanish market of which one of the big cultural differences is that they do almost everything much later. They go to the beach later, they eat later, and the swingers go to a club later.

Although some clubs have recently started doing afternoon/early evening sessions midweek (which we prefer) at the weekends they open very VERY late. 10:00pm or in some cases 11:00pm opening, very little happening before midnight, and going on well into the morning is pretty much the norm. Many times we have left a Spanish club and got home in daylight.

It's nice to see that Cupido Benidorm is opening at 5:00pm and it will be interesting to see how many people go there in the 7:00pm - midnight period as opposed to the early hours. Hopefully being a holiday resort Benidorm will be different.

That is quite true of most clubs in Spain (and most other countries to be fair) Midweek can be very quiet unless it is a special event.

Also, for its size, Benidorm has quite a small resident population, around 70,000. Compare that to the Alicante/Elche metropolitan area at 750,000 and the whole of Alicante province at 1.9 million to get some perspective.

The Spanish site we use (similar to FAB) has 740 registered swinger couples (1480 people) for the whole of Alicante province, around 0.08% of 1.9 million.

Apply the same percentage to Benidorm and you get 56 people (28 couples) some will be active and some not, some will like clubs and some won't, and as stated above most will prefer the weekends. Of course there will be others who don't use the site plus a lot of single guys but I hope that I have shown that there isn't a huge pot of local swingers in the town.

In the warmer months the Benidorm population swells with tourists, both international and Spanish, and I fully expect the club to do well from the spring onward.

We are next out in Spain on the 11th March until 12th April so hopefully we will get up there for a couple of days.

Anyways, thanks for your opinion but for somw reason we are still open, and will be for some time. So seems like not everybody thinks the same. People have exactly the same fun in a big place as in small. Bad opinions like that hurt little new bussiness, but its not your business so what do you care. Benidorm is a tiny little town and winters are tough, but theres still enough people who dont want to go 40kms to Alicante risking getting caught by police if they can swing exactly the same in Benidorm. Tired of people that dont understand how bussinesses work, winter in tourist town and the situation of swingers in Benidorm commenting. Its different when your on holiday.

We were the first in when we went but didn't grumble.

We hope the club becomes successful for tourists an locals alike.

We can understand your frustration. We know ourselves that it is pretty shit going to an empty club.

We know Benidorm very well and this time of year the whole place is pretty quiet at night.

Weekend stag and hen parties will keep the show bars going but midweek even they will be thin.

I expect it will be quite busy in the daytime and the restaurant area in old town will be busy early evenings but if you take a closer look you will see that the majority of people will be Spanish pensioners. This time of year (January/February) is well known as pensioner time.

Bottom line is that British stag/hen parties, Spanish pensioners, and a hand full of locals (see my earlier post above) are hardly the recipe for rammed out nights in a swinger club.

From Easter onward there will be more people taking longer breaks and the Spanish will start coming down for the weekends so I would expect things to improve.

We have been three times. On our 1st visit we were the only people in the place for over an hour. Eventually one Spanish single guy turned up and after chatting for a while Mrs took him into a play room so he had a good night and so did Mrs. Our other 2 visits were much busier, one when we were part of a group but there were a fair few others as well, and the other was during fiesta week in November (we even got a Veri on here for that night LOL)

Yes, it is only a small club but that can be a benefit as well as a drawback. 30 people in a huge place will feel empty, 20 or 30 people in there and the place has quite a buzz about it. We know because we have seen it with around that number.

We will go for our 4th visit in March and it might be busy, then again it might not, but whatever we will go back in the summer as well.

If you let one quiet night (or reports of a few quiet nights) put you off then, as I have said before, we will be back to the "why has Benidorm got no swinger clubs" threads on here.

Hotlovefun, you so sensible, i wish more people were like that. To be honest im so tired of the whole its small and cant smoke inside part that i will explain what happened. Benidorm is a tourist town, so yes, it has a lot of bars for rent - but because of the tourism the average price of a bar for rent is over a 1000 euros a month, and its gonna be mostly terrace because thats what sells, we werent interested in terraces for obvious reasons. It took us more then a year to find a place. There were bigger places - but we wanted something in the center because of tourists- most of the people dont come with a car. Now, the bigger places in the center had something that most of the people dont understand - people that rent out in Benidorm are mostly older ladies and gentlemen so the mention of a swinger club to them made them go what??? No prostitutes in my place!!! Didnt you see the church??? The is ni idea what a swinger is in this town. That happened in 50 places we have seen. 50! The other 30 either were even smaller, were illegal, rundown or asked for 3000 euros for a place of 200metres. So simoly physically there was no other place we could have opened the club. We actually gave up a year ago and one down i saw this place that we are in now and went like..lets see. And the man said - he was the first one in whole benidorm- i dont care what you open as long as you pay the rent. Thats why this place. I hope now people will understand the situation.

It’s a great club and the size is great. As for smoking that’s banned so don’t know why your kicking up a fuss that you can’t smoke in there, as you can’t smoke in any indoor establishments.

My comment about smoking was for the person who complained that you had to smoke outside, and implied why shouldn’t you be allowed to smoke at bottom of the stairs. Can you imagine trying to get past people gathered on the stairs smoking? And if the club allowed that they would be breaking the law so good on them for not!

Glad your Mrs had a good time! We did notice on leaving several times people having a good old natter outside when having a cig

Open Monday to Thursday from 5pm till 2am, Friday and Saturday from 8pm to 3am. Entry for couples and singles weekday is 20 euros with a drink, weekend 25 euros with a drink. We are in Carrer Sant Andreu, between hotels Brasil and Celymar. Just one street down from the Police station in the center of the city.
