Hi

Staying in PDI from next Sunday.

Is it better to use Uber to get to clubs or how else does one order a taxi from the hotel ?

And any suggestions for where's good out there at the moment for a fun night out ?

Thanks

Just ask hotel reception to get you a taxi.

Fares are extremely low, and Uber haven't contaminated PDI so far thank christ.

There are normally plenty of cabs driving around resort, just flag one down. Fares are about €3.

Taxis are everywhere, unless you are staying somewhere very isolated. There are taxi ranks at the big shopping centres and close to the big resort areas but you can flag down any passing taxi, with it's green light on. They are cheap €2.45 minimum fare, daytime and €2.95 at night. The minimum fare will get you anywhere in Playa del Ingles and Maspalomas/Sonnenland/Campo etc are only around €5. Taxis are strictly regulated, they all have meters. They are spotlessly clean and each town has its own colours....in Playa del Ingles they are white with a red roof. There are estimated prices displayed at some taxi ranks..eg Cita to airport €38 but the fare is metered..airport was actually €35 the time I messed up my transfer and had to get one. There are also phone numbers displayed at the taxi ranks but I have't used them, as there are always taxis available.

The 2 Clubs in Nilo will always sort a taxi for you, very quickly when you leave, as it's a bit out of the way and they expect you to need one. Taxis sit outside 2x2 and there is a taxi rank outside Cita, for the main bulk of the bars/clubs.
