Christmas Day in Gran Canaria ?

Hi guys.

My hubby and I have managed to squeeze a quick week in Gran Canaria during xmas week (23rd - 30th) before we go back for a fortnight in March. Could any of you lot out there be able to tell me what the Dunes/beach scene is like on Christmas Day as this has always been on our "list to do/try " things. Do many go down there or do people tend to stay in their hotels or apartments ?
