Gran Canaria, PDI or maspalomas?

Looking at this for february, any advice to newbies, first time, is PDI or maspalomas better, or are they same thing? Walking distance to nightlife and clubs/bars? I hear PDI has better restaurants and more choice?

We would say better staying in p d I anywhere near yumbo night live and clubs and cita centre maspolomas for day time and nudist beach

Maspalomas/ melanaris is a nicer area, PDI is in the thick of things and close to the clubs which are mainly in the Cita centre with our favourite club being Eden in the Nilo shopping centre. So if you look from the sea it goes Melanaris/ Maspalomas/ PDI. We are staying this time in Maspalomas (in the middle) as it’s nicer but we can walk to Cita but the local bus service is excellent and cheap. Beach wise you have kiosk 3 PDI end which is nudist or kiosk 7 Melanaris end which is nudist/ swinger. Hope this helps x

Meloneras is a beautiful place €10 taxi ride from pdi and €5 from maspolomas right on beach and stones throw of kiosk 7 , some parts of pdi are a bit ropey mainly nice hotels in meloneras so if your budget goes that far its lovely
