Unfortunately I'm not at Catarina but I've also just arrived in PDI.

I used to stay there as it's a nice hotel and great location etc, but unfortunately they ramped the prices up to where it wasn't justifiable for the cost for what I need from a hotel.

This is our first time in this hotel and we managed to get a really good deal so we are not to fussed as we liked the location but I have heard other people say the prices have gone up here recently….

Are you still staying local in the area?

I'm staying at green field. No frills, bed and a shower but the rooms are clean and functional. I don't spend much time at the hotel so just need a base etc. Short walk to the beach/tipsy hammock but a taxi to Cita

Heard similar things but the location is about the best you can get for the dunes, a naked terrace for non beach days and the clubs at a reasonable price and fully catered.

We checked in yesterday our first time in this hotel. We’ve stayed in a number in PDi (Gold, La Branda, HL Suites) but usually stay at Venus. Starting with the positive, there are two - great location and the staff are courteous and friendly - but that’s Spain and not a sole function of the establishment. Over hyped, less than average. Food worse than school dinners. Tiny pool area crammed with people. Facilities clean but v v tired. If you want to use the safe in the room it’s 3 euro per day! Amazing! I’ll have toast for breakfast tomorrow and only toast. I’ll give all other food a wide swerve, and the cocktails and wine that comes with the all inclusive wouldn’t get through any low bar quality control. We didn’t have great expectations, we booked a last minute package and it happened to be all inclusive, something we rarely use anyway, just enjoy breakfast and dine out, however this place is by far the worst hotel we’ve stayed in for decades, the food at HL Suites is Michelin quality, really, by comparison. If you haven’t already booked - AVOID!

Currently here. Peace and quiet on the terrace but make sure to take own drinks up. A flask is handy. X

We always used to stay at Catarina. But the food on our last visit was awful. I mean worse that school dinners. The quality of the meat and fish is the very very cheapest. We ended up eating just from the salad bar!

Good to hear that . It was like reading trip advisor and the fussy reviews. Folk expect 5 star

We've stayed at Abora Catarina is 6 times so feel we're qualified to make a sound judgement.

We never expect 5 star with any all inclusive style hotel there, but it's now some of the worst quality food compared to most similar all inclusive hotels in the resort.

Many others will say the same on here I'm afraid. It's a real shame as this hotel is in a fab location for Cita and beach

Hi

We stayed regularly at the Catarina before Covid and then had a ridiculous argument with a staff member in the cafeteria, we sat at a table made up for 4 when only two of us as no other tables available.

Vowed never to stay again but got a really good deal this January in a superior room with a hot tub on our balcony so thought what the hell location is great.

Absolutely loved it, yes the food isn’t fantastic buts it’s ok if you can’t be arsed to go out.

It’s a big hotel and if you go out of your way you will find some maintenance problems but it’s clean and functional, has nudey roof, gym with free weights, right by everything and if you get a deal good value.

Going again in 10 days staying in the same room and really looking forward to it.

thanks classy

Hear what you say but I go on holiday with open mind , no grand expectations . Just to chill out and enjoy the holiday.

The price that Catarina charges compared to other hotels is favourable . You do get what you oat for but the food surely can’t be that bad or else no one would go

We are back in three weeks for what will be probably our 15th stay. So guess we like it. We do stay other places on a regular basis and find everywhere has good points and bad points if we were to look for them. One us will eat just about anything and one of is can be picky, but we have always both enjoyed the food (think the time you go in will make a difference) at the Catarina. We use the roof terrace and so we are away from the kids and when we left last time they reserved the same room for us again quite happily. Happy with the drinks as we don't go on holiday to get hammered and the position of the hotel is an absolute bonus. Understand it's not for everyone but we are happy with that, if it was, then it probably wouldn't be for us as our day times are about sun and relaxation.
