My female partner (registered disabled) and I are planning an extended stay, we have an apartment booked.

Would be glad to hear from any potential friends and to receive information about what we can expect, things to do, places to go etc.

The weather is likely to be unpredictable, but definitely better than the UK. There will be days where you can enjoy the sunshine, but don't expect it to be every day.

In terms of what you can go and do, it depends on whether you're able to drive? If not, the local buses are reliable and will get you to Vera Pueblo or mojacar, but won't run too late into the evening.

No matter what, you'll enjoy it, as long you're prepared for it to be cool at night, and quiet when you go out and about

We've had beach time in January, February and March, the water is cooler but bearable, for us anyway.

There's avenida ciudad de Barcelona where you'll find restaurants that will be open along with Broadway Bar for 17:00 to midnight with good recorded music. and El Pecado for later entertaining fun.....and a gay bar.

around the consum supermarket there will be restaurants open, go to a busy one....don't forget the spanish eat late, so won't be busy until at least 7:30.

If you have a car there's Garrucha market Friday morning, and take in a fish lunch there. Saturdays is Vera Market, and Mondays the one in Huercal overa. You can get to Garrucha on the bus, but I don't know how accessible they are.

Aguilas isn't too far the town square is nice, there's a castle too, but I don't know about access again.

As for the accessibility of the buses, they don't tend to have wheelchair access, some buses do, but most don't, so if wheelchair access is needed, you might want to reconsider.

Thanks for the kind replies, very helpful.

We'll be driving from England so will have the use of our own car during our stay and a mobility scooter when useful.
