The Riu Oliva Beach Hotel near Corralejo sits beside its much better and more expensive 'sister' hotel Palace Tres Islas. Both on the beach, a long walk / short bus ride from Corralejo. It has a somewhat chequered history, but understand an enforced kitchen refit has improved its status.

I was there in September, great location sadly got Salmonella on the last day as did a few other guests during my stay! I wouldn’t go back no matter how cheap and cheerful it is

The infamous Riu Laurence Olivier!

Been threatened with demolition for many years. Might have saved a lot of upset tummies if it had been!

I've spent 5 weeks there just this year alone.been many times over the years.

I've never suffered the riu Oliva tummy bug. I've heard from people that have though. Either I have a cast iron tummy, or I've been lucky.

In an apt ATM so I'm safe from it.

But I'm back there in February

Lifts not working , air conditioning not working, poor wi fi coverage, old tv's.old fashioned rooms.

I always book the same 1st floor room.so lifts not working...so what

In the room I stay in there's wi fi

The air con is great. And don't spend much time in the room . Tv ?

Don't watch it.

Met some wonderful people there over the years that more than makes up for the hotels inadequacies.

I've stayed there. Dated but clean. Went to the nudist beach a lot.

Didn't get food poisoning in the hotel !
