Hello all, I consider spending 5 days in August in PDI with my gf, for first time. Having researched all previous chats I noticed that most people tend to prefer staying at Gold hotel instead of swinger resorts like Venus or La Mirage where nudity and public play is permitted. Is there any reason for that, I’ll be interested to hear a comparison from those who have been to both? Cheers

We prefer to mix it up a bit...venus can feel a bit full on.

People may disagree but the standard of accommodation at Gold is far superior and its location is ideal for exploring the resort...everything is pretty much on the doorstep, venus is a taxi ride out of PDI...

Never been to la mirage so can't comment

Totally agree with above we’ve been to Venus on day trip which was good but wouldn’t like to stay for 10 days and it closes every thing at 8pm so you need to get taxi into PDI as it’s a bit out .. we stay in HL suites which is adults only and naked roof terrace with 2 hot tubs which as got very hot a few times . lol

Thanks that’s very helpful.

How’s PDI compared to Cap d’Agde in South of France? Crowd, clubs options, overall tourist infrastructure etc?

La Mirage is hard to get into for the dates you want, Venus isn’t cheap but neither is Gold.

The huge advantage of the two Venus hotels and LM is that if you enjoy just being naked then they are great hotels.

Also the accommodation particularly at LM is high quality and great value. It’s also small and intimate so easy to make friends. Venus is more a place to have fun more than chilled but it’s still a very nice place to stay.

The main Venus hotel is far more full on than LM which is very chilled and to be honest we’d prefer that to normal vanilla hotels which Gold definitely is. But….. (there is always a but), the swinger hotels are way out in the suburbs so you need a taxi to get in and out of town. The taxis are super easy and super cheap but places like Gold are so convenient to almost everything including the main swing areas 10-15 min walk) , main shopping centres, bars the nearest naturist beach (25 mins walk). Whereas the swinger hotels are at least a 40 min walk to the nearest naturist beaches with no shade or facilities on the way and just a few restaurants and bars nearby.

In addition LM and Venus can be completely dead from 8pm onwards but they both are great to socialise early evening.

Different worlds. PDI is 98+% a vanilla resort, well except for the large gay community, whereas as Cap D’Agde naturist village is 100% naturist during the day and has everything PDI has x3 and all within 5-10 mins walk. The kink and club shopping is great within the village and it has a fantastic naturist beach. It’s chalk and cheese really.

The main downside to the Cap is that it’s a short season, very expensive (with a lot of the accommodation of questionable quality). Not a downside as such but it’s mainly a French resort.

The main downside to PDI is nearly the whole time you are mixing with vanillas so you have to dress appropriately day and night and things are spread out and not many decent swing clubs and even fewer bars to meet, dance and mingle in.

Apparently Cap D camp site and hotels/accommodation together can hold 30k people in the high season. Lots of clubs and bars to dance in and people watch. Completely buzzing in high season. But like anywhere it has plenty of downsides as does PDI. All depends what floats your boat really.

But…. I would recommend trying both at least once, you may love one or both or hate one or both but we love both.
