Just FYI:

Bus and coach operators are planning multiple 24-hour strikes on Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, in the Canary Islands, during October. The strikes will run 00:01-23:59 on Oct. 2, 4, 7, 9, 11, 14, 16, 18, 21, 23, 25 and 28. Authorities have confirmed that transport to hospitals and medical centers will not be impacted, nor will school buses be impacted; however, 70 percent of discretionary services will be impacted. The action has been called by transport sector employees amid failed negotiations between them and transport companies.

Disruptions to ground transport operations are likely during strike days. Striking workers may picket near government buildings or transport offices on the affected islands on strike days. Security forces will likely deploy to monitor gatherings. Clashes are unlikely. Localized ground travel disruptions are possible near protest sites.

Please look online at car hire. The cost of our car was less than the cost of a transfer each way to the airport and from airport. Plus it’s there now if we need it

Alicante Airport Security Strike, September 2023 - January 2024

Last Updated: Tuesday 3rd October 2023 - 10:10 BST

We wanted to let you know that strike action is taking place on the following dates listed below. This is supported by the Security service at Alicante airport and this may mean potential congestion in security.

The strike will take place for one hour in the morning and evening, on the following dates:

October: 1st 3rd 6th - 15th 17th 20th- 22nd 24th 27 - 29th & 31st

November: 1st – 5th 7th 10th – 12th 14th 17th – 19th 21st 24th – 26th & 28th

December: 1st – 10th 12th 15th - 17th 19th 22nd- 31st

January 2024: 1st – 14th

Please ensure you allow plenty of time to pass through the airport.

All our flights are due to operate at the scheduled time of departure.

It won't stop the Taxis - but there might be be fewer of them because they are filling for the travel companies.

Yes taxi is running no problems .. only seen one transfere bus at the airport ..taxi driver said they on strike monday .Wednesday and friday all October.. so i booked taxi back to the airport ..
