Costa Blanca Spain...

Can't say for Leeds/Bradford specifically but I've flown into Manchester a couple of times this year with a few extra packets (not cartons) without any issues.

I think most customs checks are done out of sight, scanners Etc. You very rarely see anyone getting pulled over these days.

If the scanner picks up a suitcase stuffed full with cartons of cigs then you will probably get pulled. A few extra packs spread around the case usually wouldn't set the alarm bells off.

However, like in everything, you pay your money and take your chance. No guarantees.

If your going to bring more back put them in your hand luggage as they scan your suitcase

Good tip that - stash inside hand luggage. Cheers

sandwell

Got pulled at bristol (yes I know it is not Leeds but worth the cautionary tale) on return from PDI pre brexit. We were carrying 2Kg of hand rolling baccy.

We were not aware, at that time, that the canaries have NEVER been in the EU custom zone (same as Gibraltar and Andorra) apparently and as such the limit is, and always has been, 250gr of hand roll per person. They took 1.5Kg off us.

p.s. worth noting for Irish readers that the duty free allowance applies to you as well. Just saying.

Ah yep, forgotten that it was always the rule for the Canaries.

Of course, the limit is 200 cigarettes till, or 100 mini cigar or 50 cigar or 250 gr of tobacco.

This limits are per person, that’s mean if you’d travel with a couple you can carry double quantities.
