"Coming from Birmingham and close to the Balti triangle, I’d like to think I know a bit about a good curry having been raised on the wonderful Asian cuisine. IMHO the best curry house to date in PDI is in Tenerife. Yep another island but politely speaking, we’d tried a few places over the past 10 years and have been underwhelmed. The last place we went was Tandori Masala last April, having read decent reviews on the place. Salt was the operative word on this visit. A little too much for our liking. We’ve heard from locals who know their curry, and seen on social media groups, that the best place appears to be the Gorkha Palace. Friends have informed us that they believe that this is the best curry you’ll find here, though still not the standard we get in the Midlands, but the best in PDI. We might give it a try this October, so will be able to share a subjective view, but from a personal point of view to date, we have been so underwhelmed that we get our curry fix just before we go to PDI and then on our return."

"Kurry Kingdom in the Yumbo, better than many of our local places. In particular their Tarka Dahl and Chilli Coriander Naan " Mmm Tarka Dhal is one of our go to sides. Love a good dhal.

"Went to Gorkha Palace last night 5th June. The inside is like the curry houses we went to in the 70s up Bradford Street in Walsall, but having said that the food was delicious cannot fault it ,staff were friendly and welcoming. There was even a table of 12 Asia diners there which always looks good in our book" I think we know the curry house you’re on about, well probably through the various name changes. Always wanted to try Five Rivers behind there. And also Shimla Peppers, which looks like some type of Al fresco dining. Lived nearly these places for five years and didn’t go once. Thanks for sharing your Gorkha Palace experience and delighted that you enjoyed. Your comments are definitely going towards sealing a deal for our October/November visit.
