Wow that's an eye opener! It's a shame this is happening to the vegetation and the animal life..

It sounds like some sort of toilet facilities on the beach would make a big difference...

"It sounds like some sort of toilet facilities on the beach would make a big difference..."

There were toilets at kiosk 7 but people wouldn't bother coming out from the dunes, no matter how many toilets there were. Toilets IN the dunes would kind of contradict the conservation aims and be an eyesore. Think it's obvious the best(and probably only) option, is to maintain the ban from straying off the marked trails....

I spoke to a local man once, on the high path to the viewpoint at the Riu Palace and he told me that when he was a boy, you couldn't see the sea beyond the dunes, they were that much bigger

Two weeks ago while walking from the Riu hotel to the dunes I counted over 100 cigarette butts on the path before we came to the first vegetation which is probably 500m

I also have photos taken from the same spot in 1987 and in the more recent 6 years, the dunes are unrecognizable in the 30 year gap and the annual change is significant

There was a display near the Rui hotel at the beginning of last year and it seems the anexo shops at tbe front and all the sunbeds changed the way the wind moved the sand

It's a shame that people don't show some respect for them..
