We tend to book flights and accommodation ourselves. Seems to work out cheaper.

Owing to the uncertainty I would only book with Tui right now. If it all goes tits up it's easy to amend/re-amend or get a refund. Refunds are back on accounts within 5 days, they do the £20 pp travel test pack and they throw in covid insurance + repatriation flights. (If needed)

I think jet 2 + easy jet holidays are similar but I'd need to check that.

Virgin I would avoid, nearly 18 months on and their staff are still telling people they've no right to a refund

Jet 2 for us until things return to something resembling normal times.

We moved holidays last year with no problem.

If memory serves on the beach got into it with abta last year so maybe check abta/atol protection and run it through Google first.

I would never trust 3rd party package deals with money after the last 18 months. Those two plus travel republic and alpharooms are terrible, you will regret it if there's disruption. Personally I do DIY(pre covid) but last week went Jet2 holidays and they were brilliant. Jet2 the best for getting your money back too

Travel Republic. They're ATOL so your holiday is insured. They show a range of airlines, one year we flew with different airlines outbound and inbound with no hiccups. They refunded us pretty quick earlier in the year.

Jet2 for me

Had 6 holidays cancelled in the last 18 months and the money has always been credited to my account in days. Never longer than a week

Credit to them and very flexible with changes too

couldnt agree more , about Alpha rooms dont touch them even with your barge pole, as they say the very worse, try Travel Republic, never let me down , but i do sky scanner for my flights, or go on to easy jet site x

For me the tide has turned from putting my own package togather to using someone like Tui where I can be sure of no hassle if there is a covid problem impacting the holiday.

Travel Republic.. refunded a cancelled holiday with no agro

The last holiday we didn't get the room we booked coz the hotel was full and got a €600 refund, again no hassle.

Just booked 3 weeks in GC for next October for the same price is just over 2 this year.

If you want a package the like if TUI and Jet2 offer good guarantees on refunds, closely followed by Easyjet Holidays.

The likes of Travel Republic, Expedia, Alpharooms and Love Holidays combine flights and hotels for you and when Covid hit first time, these where a nightmare to get straightforward refunds from.

With regards to Canaries booking flights and accommodation with a good cancellation policy works best for us.

with travel republic you can take just hotels like i do at least two times a year, then book your flight from gatwick, i have never ever had any trouble with T/R and have always got any money back with the covid, in 3 weeks , and with them you can cancel your accom upto about 3 weeks before you go and get 100% refund ,

Alpha rooms dont excist anymore from 29 of October same as teletext holidays.. hope to get my money back .

Soooooo happy Alpha rooms have gone , nothing but crooks, im very sorry for anybody who booked with them, and are still owed money, or a holiday, they made me wait for over a year at one stage, just to get a voucher , stick with Travel Republic, never let me down, YET, but who knows in these uncertain times , good luck all x

Jet2holidays.

One thing the last 2 years have taught us is that package holidays offer you so much more security if things go tits up.

4 holidays cancelled during Covid times and money immediately refunded within days. Literally never had to do a thing.

We use Jet2 very good service and the staff are very friendly.

Our friends use TUI and speak very highly of their £20.00 testing kits and testing arrangements.
