I've just read that the UK government is planning on putting Spain and all its islands on the red list at the next review next week. Has anyone heard anymore regarding this?

Fylde Coast.

I read this too and that apparently 1in 35 people returning to UK from Spain are testing positive….how that’s possible is beyond me!

Media hype as usual, don’t believe anything until it announced by the powers that be

I think, and this is just my opinion, based on our vaccination rates, we are 70% of the population vaccinated now, we won't be put back on the Red List.

However, our government (in GC) have kept us on Level 4 because they now want 100% vaccinated, which ain't gonna happen.

Still in Level 4 and as far as I know still on Amber List for now.

"Some people just love a good scaremongering."

Bloody TwatBook.....

But honestly, I don't see it happening. Our vaccine rates are great and our numbers are going down everyday so....don't panic people!

Its irrelevant, the variant in Spain is the same delta as the UK,they only change to red for a variant of concern eg lambda.

There are over a million British people in Spain and the islands, where would they quarantine them there aren't enough hotel beds in the UK that's why the invented amber + for france ... Too many returning

It's sad people can't think properly anymore.

Well hopefully our inept government who are mostly back from holiday will give us good news on Thur 26th before we fly out 28th.

And not put GC into Red

There is no need

We fly out to Spain early Friday morning, so we'll be watching the TV with more than a passing interest on Thursday night!

Biggleswade

It’s looking increasingly like good news.

Just a note of warning for frequent travellers, on my trip last month, the clinic re-sent me my fit to fly certificate (that like a muppet I didn’t check properly) and it wasn’t noticed until I was boarding and they didn’t let me on, so check carefully (or you will have to stay there for another week like me ; )
