Thank god the oven and hair dryer have been turned off.

So difficult to stay cool and sand free.

It is but an open oven door on full heat with a hairdryer blowing sand.. even locals had not known heat and wind like it.. bottom of our pool turned black. But yes we battled on and it was great

You clearly endured the dreaded Calima's . They ste weather fronts that come over from the Sahara.

Ah but it was not a Calima.

That happens when the winds blow direct off the Coast of Africa and the Sahara Sand is in that wind.

This was a southerly wind and was gusting, up in the mountains some villages where close to 50c.

Been through a few Calimas and Sirocco type winds, this was different..but hay ho...

Thankfully it's ALOT cooler now. Even the Canarians were complaining about the heat. Made me feel very sick and queasy at times. But that's August! Roll on September and October and November and all our sexy friends coming over

It was really really hot for one or two days, uncomfortable but to be expected at this time of year.

We’ve been coming for two weeks every August since 2013 and it happens every year.

Somehow the cool beer, shady pool and hot nights make it all fine
