-Proof of vaccine (both jabs) OR negative PCR test OR proof of recovery from COVID-19.

-Then a test 2 days before you leave Spain and proof of negative result.

-Then a test in the UK 2 days after you arrive back.

BBC:

Despite prior speculation, Spain will remain on the amber list, enabling travellers who are fully vaccinated to continue to enjoy a quarantine-free return.

How is an English company going to process a PCR test from Spain?

You can do antigen tests abroad and upload the results to an English company for certificates but PCR need labs.

As yet it's 'advise to do PCR prior to returning' but there's backlash to that from ministers because taking an antigen test to self do abroad is easy.

If it has to be a PCR test to return to UK you will need to find a lab/test centre in your holiday destination/locally

You also need proof of purchase of PCR tests for day 2 back at home.

If you are taking the test with you, it will be antigen. You cannot process your own PCR test.

They are recommending a PCR to return to the UK but currently a €15 antigen test is sufficient. These are widely available. We had ours done at San Roque Hospital.

You need a PCR test booked for day 2 after your return to the UK. You will need the booking code from this to complete the UK entry form. Mine was booked with Randox, it was £45.

An antigen test is still OK to return to the UK, a PCR test is advised, not required. You will need the day 2 but this can be done on or before day 2. You will need this booked in order to complete the online form to get into the UK.

"Mine was booked with Randox, it was £45."

For 2 of you?

I paid £60 for 3 antigen tests to take abroad with me and do 48 hours prior to returning to the UK and 3 pcrs for day 2 at home. Chronomics.

We only need 1 PCR to leave England, 2 antigen to return to England and 3 pcrs on day 2 once back in England.

Used Liverpool, Regenerative for 1 PCR to travel out of England on 24 hour turn around at £80. Was simply easier than going to John Lennon or worrying about posting sample to a lab

Depend on where you are going. Currently double jabbed at least 14 days before travel no test needed to enter Spain. I would suggest printing your vaccine certificate from the NHS app. The QR code when printed is valid for 30 days. We have also found it simpler to print documents for the return journey, makes it easier (and quicker) for the airport staff.

Yep, we got back from GC a couple of weeks ago. Will be out there again in 4 weeks. Allow an hour to fill in your UK form for the return, it's a bit of a faff and most likely you will end up swearing at your phone, it's easier to do on a lappy if you are taking one with you. But apart from that quite straightforward really, once you get your head around what you need. Enjoy your hols!

No I'm double vaccinated, months ago.

I printed my vaccine QR codes

It's my daughter that needed PCR to get out of England, (aged between 10 - 18)

my son is under 10 so can just leave without tests.

For Spain and the canaries, proof of vaccine, their app and a plf is needed to enter Spain.

You need an antigen test to take with you and proof of PCR purchase on day 2 after you return to UK to get on the flight out of UK.

PCR may become the requirement instead of antigen to come back to the UK. If they change it to PCR then you'll need that lab test doing in Spain.

PCR is within 72 hours of arriving.

Antigen tests need to be done within 48 hours of flight departure.

Ignore sites that are not gov.uk or linked from gov.uk. The correct pages for Spain open from the gov UK sites

"Hi,

According to the UK government website, you can use either, but yesterday Grant Shapps made the statement that they recommended people returning from Spain should get a PCR test.

But, keep in mind that it is your responsibility to ensure that the test you take meets the requirements for entry to the UK, and that you have the correct paperwork to verify the test results.

I'll be checking the official government website not a swinger site for that one, and check while you're there before you book or take a test too
