One of us hoping to get back for family mid August, lets hope they don't place Spain on Amber-plus. Anyone else in the same position?

Amber plus isn’t a major problem, you can still use the 5 day release scheme. The main problem is getting a positive reading whilst away. Having been over several times in the last few months the day of the test whilst there is an extremely nervous one. As no one wants to be in the Spanish quarantine jail hotels.

I wish someone could explain to me how it is ok from today for a double vaccinated Spanish National or any other European National to arrive in the UK and not have to isolate but as a British National who has been on holiday and double vaccinated would potentially have to quarantine if we were on Amber +

This government have completely lost the plot

"Amber plus isn’t a major problem"

It is if the country turns red while you're away

Exactly and you can’t trust him or his cronies not to do it either

As I said totally unjust and discriminatory against double vaccinated UK citizens

Even the Chancellor and some of his leading cabinet are advising that this is crazy let’s see if he listens. Testing is the way forward not making people isolate for no reason

That is incorrect. If Spain is added on Amber plus , ANYONE, arriving from Spain (UK or EU vaccinated individuals) will have to see isolate for ten days…. I don’t think Spain will be added on Amber plus

Looks like it yes, I am convinced it is all about trying to force people to holiday in England and boost the economy

I can’t see any other valid reason for it given the Government isn’t imposing the same restrictions on EU nationals

Zurich. NOT London.

The rules change, we adapt. We have just had 3 weeks in PDI, had a great time and are booked again for September and December.

If it happens all good if not, we adapt. The testing is simple, we are both double vaxxed, travel is really quite straightforward right now, as long as you are prepared to adapt if the rules change. The liklihood is as a third country we are going to get banned from other countries due to our rates.

Rates coming down here so all looking good , rates rising across Europe now that may cause a problem for us flying , but who knows what's round corner
