As people who are double vaxxed are according to the figures from the US 90% less likely to contract the virus. The EU vaccination card comes into effect officially on Thursday, this was always going to happen, especially with the Delta variant as it is.

"Be interesting to know what the Spaniards will accept as proof of vacination, especially as the UK is not part of the eu vaccine certificate program." The QR code on the NHS app is being accepted in Switzerland, Netherlands and Estonia, so we assume EU wide. It states only that it must show personal details, vaccination details, date, batch number etc. As well as this we also have a printed version which again is available on the NHS app.

"Just to clarify. We are going from a situation where at present no PCR test or vaccination passport is required to a tightening of restrictions. And this is seen as increasing risk? Any highly intelligent people here care to explain this?" I'm not sure what more people want. I personally would think it would give people more confidence to travel

Any highly intelligent people here care to explain this?" Whatever we need to do, test, 5 day quarantine (pay for extra test), test to come home. It is what it is. I admit feeling more comfortable travelling knowing everybody has been vaxxed/tested. We're used to it, it's kinda normal now. 2 days and 12 hours and we'll be on the plane, not that I'm counting of course... I've even done my packing!

And if test positive you can't isolate for 10days on return because you cant return you need to stay and isolate in spain which the spanish govenment have insurance for to cover costs. Looking forward to flying back to the uk tomorrow on my negative antigen test with certified certificate

Double vaxxed you don't need to test to enter Spain. I would suggest printing all your docs as it's so much faster getting through the airport and the staff appreciate having all the doc's in one place, it makes it as easy as possible. Complete the Spain travel health form online. Return test, a fast test was fine, we had puts done at San Roque hospital €15 each, results in 20 mins. Then complete the UK locator form. It was really quite simple.

"Many thanks for the quick responses and advice!! Seems clearer now. We are flying with easyJet, I am guessing they are the ones who check documents etc?" They will ask for passports and certificates. At this end they will ask the same and passenger locator forms. I would have a paper copy of everything as well for ease. No fiddling with phones etc.

You only need to take the tests if you are still in England.
