Apologies in advance if this is already covered. Looking for some guidance for first time visitors to Gran Canaria as regards places to stay and go please. Hoping to get there second half of July or early August if our government give green light. Thanks in advance and say hello if you are going yourselves.

Hi there, I'm going on 6th July till 3rd August ...I lived there for 10 years, although its a few years since I was back.

Great knowledge of the island, will be visiting most of the swinger friendly clubs before u guys get out there

Keep in touch or maybe you two would like to meet for a drink when you get over and I can give you the run down of the better and busier places, if I don't see u , have fun !

Thanks for that. People say it’s September/October but surely people want to feel the sun after being cooped up for so long.

Well I'm thinking so, I'm hoping a lot of folk , like me , will be desperate for a break in the sun. So hoping people who would normally go later may go earlier this year. I suppose for UK people it depends on this traffic light system. Update on that today, so fingers crossed.

Is it a similar system for Irish who want to travel?

We will be using a European Covid digital card which we can get on 19th. It outline whether you have been vaccinated, had Covid in last 9 months I think or had negative PCR test in last 72hrs. These cards should be then accepted across EU with each country

Swansea

Things are starting to stink(more than before)

Uefa allowed 2k + officials into uk no quarantine. 60k fans in wembley .F1 siverstone allowed 140k for weekend before 19th july and only malta added to the full green list. There may be trouble ahead !!!?

Free tickets and "donations" to certain people of influence had a part to play in those decisions. I'd put money on it

It’s a QR code I believe and paper if you need it. Only for EU citizens as I understand it

Gran Canaria should have been added to the green list. They have better covid rates than Balerics and doing well with jabs. I really am perplexed as to why they haven't added more countries to the green list. The government needs to be more transparent on what modeling they are using to make their decisions.
