Hi! Not swinging related, sorry, but we're hoping to get to Gran Canaria in August again and we'd love to get up into the forests (if there's any left after the fires.)

We don't drive so we're limited to busses. We'd rather not go on organised tours as we'd rather do our own thing. Any pointers on where to go and how to get there? We're staying in PDI. Thanks!

Take the bus up towards Vega de San Mateo. Hop off anywhere that takes your fancy and jump back on, the whole area is just fantastic.

To be honest, the whole island is beautiful and it’s a shame most visitors don’t have time to explore it. We can understand why most folk centre on PDI of course.

We’re looking forward to our next trip when we plan on doing a lot more walking than before.

Our first visit to GC together was taken up with driving around and getting our bearings.

Let us know how you get on..

From July 9, Gran Canaria abolishes PCR tests, a quick antigen test is enough and vaccinated and convalescent people do not need a test at all

What has this got to do with forest walks...?

Go to the tourist information centre by the jumbo ,they can give you maps and information about what buses will take you to where you want to go , Gran Canaria is stunning away from the tourist spots , or ask at your hotel reception they probably organise trips out to these places , definitely worth a day away from the beaches and bars ,

Hi Guys

Not sure best was to reach the forest areas, I have done a lot of cycling on GC but not up to forest areas. We are visiting from 23rd Sep for 10 days though.

Thank you
