Now near Vera in Spain

If there's anyone who are coming out to the area, or live out here, and fancy a meet-up sometime, please get in touch.

I'm based out here now and would love to meet up - even if it's just for a social!

Additionally, if anyone has any questions about coming out, ask away!

Well, I'm pretty sure the Spanish Government will want you to return out here asap! Last summer was quiet and I think businesses are hoping for a more normal summer. It does need flights to get back to normal though. Oh... and you know the Pirata bar? It's just a shell atm - needs rebuilding.

So do you rent your place out when you're not there?

well our problem is we havent even taken possession of the apartment yet, we have got the keys but we bought it in December 2019 after we returned to UK and havent been back to get in there. Friends have had a look at it for us so all is well. Pirates bar got hit by storms I think but surely they will rebuild

Yes, I took a walk along the beach weekend before last and the Pirata bar needed a lot of TLC! I hope they do repair it - there's nothing else like it on the beach...

West Yorkshire.

I may be wrong but I understood that when it was wrecked a few yrs ago, it was rebuilt using an old container & bulding decking etc around it. Its a cracking place to spend a sunny few hrs with friends either on the decking or down the sandy side next to the sunbeds so fingers crossed it will soon be business as usual!

I've added a similar message in another chat channel but... On my visit to VP on Sunday I noticed that the repairs to the Pirata bar seem to be progressing very slowly, if at all. I was rather surprised because regardless of the on/off state of the UK government's travel advice, Mojacar playa was pretty busy on Saturday afternoon/evening. I'm sure if Pirata bar was repaired it would be quite busy in a couple of weeks time.

Anybody know of anywhere else local to VP that's fun to visit when on the beach?

Pirata has been moved back a good few metres and is now level, the decking is being replaced and as we speak they are fixing the services.

Costa Blanca Spain...

Driving down for 3 nights next week (Wed/Thurs/Fri)

Will probably hang around the Pirate bar in the daytime.

Will look in Broadway in the evenings and see what else is going on.

Anyone know if Templum is due to open?

Templum is not currently open however when we were there last weekend there appeared to be a light on, so not sure if there are plans to open. The beach was really busy last weekend x

Thanks for that.

We were hoping that it would be open but I suppose it's going to be 50/50 at best.

Not looking for specific meets but if anyone sees us by all means say hello.

On the beach our parasol is pretty unique in Spain. You will know it when you see it.

Just checked out Templum's website and it says they are now open 7 nights a week from 1st July.

Seems like we may have a chance for next Friday.

So I've not really sampled the night life. So the streets behind Vera Playa are mostly in the naturist area. Do people generally walk about naked? Or is that a rare sight? And is there a kind of cut off point at night (a curfew) where clothes are expected? And presumably the clubs you need to turn up dressed? Excuse my ignorance!

Hiya group, we had a good offer and we're selling our villa in Javea, thinking about buying a small 2-bed apartment in the naturist area of Vera in the meanwhile. We'd be very interested in advice and comments. Are the shared pools generally for naked swimming, or do you have to wear cossies? What are the service charges like per annum? Can we let it out for a reasonable return if not in use? What is the swinging scene like? Is it noisy/quiet at night?

Advice would be welcome, wither here or by PM.

Costa Blanca Spain...

We are in Vera now.

Yesterday on the beach was reasonably busy. Had a couple of drinks in the Pirate bar, yes it is open and there were quite a few in.

Had a walk around hotel St last night. Broadway bar was almost empty but there were a few in Frankies and La Reva.

Had a couple in La Reva then called it quits

Templum is now open so will probably give it a go on Friday.

The ppols in the naturist urbanisations are strictly nude, there are urbanisations not naturist near the naturist beach so swimwear would be worn. We havent quite worked it out yet the annual charges, we know its cheaper than France as we had an apartment there before 75 euros per month for our urnbanisation but we have an indoor pool 40 euros every 2 months standing charge for electricity and various others but not added it up. The annoying thing is we havent even spent a night in out apartment yet

We are really looking forward to when we get there

Thanks. It is easy to buy into an apartment and then find out that there's high standing charges, which is what we're trying to avoid. Good that the communal pools are naked, coming from having our own pool, swimming with flappy stuff round us would be horrible.
