"We've been visiting PDI regularly for years now and we love the place to bits! The amazing bars, clubs, cinema and beach and create a great swinging community. A Compact resort were you can walk to everything. However, we've never visited Cap-d'Agde and we're thinking of booking a little taster trip to see how it compares. Just wondering what's a better holiday for a swinging couple? xx" You can't really compare the two, if you imagine if all the PDI swinger clubs, naturist/swinger hotels and apartments, nice restaurants, bars for dancing, sexy or otherwise, places to shop for sexy clothes, a huge beach are all in one place within 10 minutes walk of each other in a single dedicated 'village' AND then times that by 10 then you'll have an idea of what the Cap is! OK maybe times it by 5 at least! lol It's just as chilled during the day as PDI but at night is where it really shines. Bars stay open till 2am (among many other places like shops) then if you want any action (and it's extremely easy to get it), then you move onto one of the half dozen clubs that stay open most of the night all of which have play areas, some very large. During the day you have pool parties, some free some paid for, saunas, spas, naturist/swinger pools, foam party etc. If you just want to do naturist stuff then you won't see any swinging but if you want swinging it's on tap day and night. The closer to the high season the younger the crowd but it gets very expensive especially from mid-July to the end of August (busiest times). I could go on and on but I think you get the idea.

" Agree with all of that. There is much MUCH more at Cap and that also includes people. On a high season weekend there can be as many as 40,000 people within the naturist village. To be fair they are not all swingers but a sizeable chunk (maybe even a majority) will be. The swinger section of the beach is unique, there is nowhere in the world remotely like it. No hiding behind a bush in the dunes here, if you want to fuck lick or suck your partner just do it. The couple on the next towel will not bat an eyelid, many probably wouldn't even notice. Other daytime events (foam/pool parties Etc.) are a must do. Want to nip to the bakery for a baguette in the morning? Fine, no need for clothes, just go naked, again no-one will bat an eyelid. Want to chill naked around a pool then nip downstairs for something more if you are feeling horny? Kamasutra Spa will welcome you. If the weather is a bit iffy and you fancy a sauna (well I think they have sauna somewhere in there LOL) then the 2 et 2 sauna is split into two halves one mixed one couples only and can get wild in there some afternoons. All of that and I haven't got to the night time yet. Lots of restaurants and bars (all are swinger friendly to some degree) one restaurant even has a play area. The bar and table dancers in the Melrose are like you will never see anywhere, certainly not in a free admission bar, and if you want to leap up onto the table and join in then go for it (no knickers allowed though, yes seriously) At night the ladies go out in their sexiest outfits. See through over naked, topless, BDSM outfits Etc are all common. Covering up when walking from one place to another? Forget it, just strut your stuff down the paths. Later on you can try one of the clubs. Le Glamour, Le Tantra, Jeux de Mains, and Le Jules among others are all welcoming and can get wild in busy times. Next day? Just do it all again. Downside? (yes there always has to be one) Firstly Cap is very expensive when compared to GC. In high season you will struggle to find an apartment for less than around 800€ per week (and they even charge extra for bedding ) Food and drink are also much more than you would expect in GC. Lastly Cap is a very short season. To get the best out of the place you really need to go from mid June to (very) early September. Outside of that it can be quiet, especially mid week. Bottom line is that in the summer months CAP wins hands down every time, the rest of the year is when GC comes into its own. Just to add. All of the above is pre Covid. What we will get afterwards is anyones guess.

"Quick question about Cap, if I may be so bold to interject. In the shops etc you can be naked or as naked as you want....are the people who work in the shop naked too or clothed? " The workers are all clothed. Customers are quite often, but not always, naked. The one thing that I always find quite funny is in the boutiques. You will see a naked woman take an outfit into the changing room. She will draw the curtain, put in on, and come out to look in the mirror. Then she will go back into the room, draw the curtain, take it off, then come out naked. Seen it lots of times and never understood it.

PDI better guaranteed weather and a more sociable experience. No need to choose though

"Can anyone recommend a good place to stay in cap, like a hotel or b&b ?" All depends on what you like and what your budget is. Cheap to medium cost - camping in the village (book direct) or outside but none are that easy to get to the resort unless you have a car. Medium to expensive - apartment either through booking.con, Airbnb, private owners or one of the half dozen in-village agencies. I’d recommend through an agency though they can vary in quality of accommodation and service but generally safer than direct rentals with owners. Expensive - hotels, book direct or some through booking.com. Look on google maps as they list them all. I highly recommend staying in the village as although a hotel/apartment may be cheaper outside you will always need to pay an entry fee to the village snd beach and probably taxi fares as well. So extra time and false economy. Note if you are renting an apartment make sure the rental dates match the flights by Ryanair to Beziers as some rentals are from Saturday to Saturday and Ryanair don’t fly on Saturdays. Alternatively fly with Easyjet to Montpellier but that’s an awkward journey to the resort. Most agencies only book via emails/telephone. Also most people will have good and bad stories for most agencies, airlines, hotels etc though we have booked through A.D. James who speak English and specialise in English visitors and also used Resid and never had a problem with either.

"We have had the best time at Cap, but also the worst clubbing experiences, too may people and too many creepy, and I mean REALLY creepy single men. Everybody should try Cap, but it's not what it was 10 years ago, in my humble opinion." Know what you mean about creepy men (and good and bad experiences) but then most clubs in the Cap have a couples only area. A mistake some make is that they assume because it's a gated community that you are fairly safe but you are no safer there than anywhere else from creepy guys, pickpockets etc cause all they need to do is pay the entrance fee to get into the village though the club prices are pretty steep for guys for good reason as the place is a magnet for them far and wide. I'd say you have the same ratio of guys (of which many are creepy) to couples in PDI as you do in the Cap, there is just far far more people in the Cap clubs than PDI. Would have liked to have known the cap 10 years ago, many say it's tipped the balance the last few years as regards more swingers than naturists though I don't think that's quite true (yet) if you look at the total number of people on the whole beach or out at night compared to those in the swingers area of the beach and swingers clubs at night. But as the man in the orthopaedic shoes said, I stand to be corrected!

"Can anyone recommend a good place to stay in cap, like a hotel or b&b ?" Note the naturist village is a small gated community with the greater Agde/Cap D'Agde town/area. Always check if the accommodation is in the actual naturist village or not. ---- Very rough first week in August 2021 prices and some of the agencies and hotels in the village itself. ---- Naturist Village Camp site: www.centrenaturiste-oltra.fr/en Has cheap pitches (350 euros 7 nights) to expensive ‘cottages’ (3,000 euros 7 nights). — Agencies for apartments (and some for hotels) in the village 500-2,500 (or more) euros for 7 nights www.byll-immobilier.com www.ad-james.com www.resid.com www.pengfrance.com/en/ www.naturist.de www.genevievenaturisme.com/en — Hotels in the village: www.natureva-spa.com www.riadcapdagde.com www.hoteleve.com www.genevievenaturisme.com/en (le jardin de babylone and Le Jardin d'Eden) www.nateve.com www.oz-inn-hotel.com (the most expensive by far, up to £10,000 for a week in August) — Other sources to book: Airbnb, Vrbo and booking.com. A few owners rent out direct as well. --- From the UK what we do is get some rough dates then email an agency or two or three (also compare with booking.com) and see what they have on offer and the available dates then try match them up with flights. As said we have heard good and bad stories about many of the above and you’ll usually be charged extra for linen/towels etc and a cleaning fee on top of the room rental. Some agencies allocate by actual room, some you get pot luck. Some two person apartments are very small especially in Port Nature. The three main blocks: Port Nature - is above/beside a large proportion of the shops, clubs, bars etc therefore can be quiet to very nosey at night spending on location of apartment. Port Ambonne - as Nature but generally quieter. Heliopolis - Closer to the beach, has bars etc but most away from the accommodation so much quieter than the other two blocks (in general). Between the three apartment blocks there are the hotels, a couples of villa areas and also the many large car parks (yuk). Everything is within 10 minutes walk except the camp site, add another 5-15 mins walk to the nightlife centres of the naturist village.
